Damn you, Argrace. Damn you for making hats that look great and are colour change and are easy to fit and have great hair textures and for making me buy all of them. Damn my hat addiction too. Which makes it my fault really and not Argraces.

But I do love this new military hat and it’s quite fortunate that I was looking for something to go with the new military shirts from FIR. I’ve always liked the stuff from FIR and each new release gets better and better. The cords I’m wearing are from there too (and they come on the pants AND underwear layer which is such a plus point). Loads of colours to choose from and I love the little details on the shirt such as the studs on the collars and the epaulettes.

For some bizarre reason I’m having great difficulty with things rezzing at the moment. I tp into a place and have to stand around for a week and a half before the greyness subsides and I can work out where the hell I am.

Typical. Just a few days ago I have a tiny moan about the shortage of mens hair at Truth (in comparison to the womans section, anyway), and what happens? A new male hair is released. And I really like it too. Now all I need is Mr. Hawks to make a nice chunky mohawk and call it Bronson and I’ll be one happy chappy. Well, we can all wish, can’t we….

The coat is from Mini Me – a store I first saw mentioned over at YouStyleSl and what I like about this coat is that the bottom section is on the skirt layer. No prim parts to adjust (apart from the collar and cuffs) – although its worth making your butt a bit smaller when wearing it, as any lady who wears system skirts will tell you.

Dear Residents of Second Life,

I have a request. It’s quite a simple one and its one that some of you may indeed enjoy. I don’t mean to encroach on your lives any more than is necessary but if you happen to be passing by me one day and I  happen to say, ‘I just think I’ll take a quick look around :SEY’, then please, please stop me. A rugby tackle would be appropriate. Or maybe use a stun gun if you have one to hand. But just try to stop me because every time I go there I end up buying stuff. And if I don’t buy a lot there’s always stuff I want to go and get later.

Anyway, I went there today. And I bought this top. And these boots. And almost some other stuff but luckily my Linden balance ran dry and I came to my senses. The top is available in other colours and you can buy the boots in a number of different pattern options (I want for the plain corduroy ones) and they are colour change.

Anyway, I really like this hat/hair I picked up from Gritty Kitty. Its texture change from a selection of army or corduroy patterns and you can also buy the hat by itself if you wish. Price is good too.

The jacket is from Enderfield – a place I discovered through a post at Tact Arida. Theres some nice hoodies I intend to get my hands on there as well as this jacket which is available in three colours.

In the pack you get the jacket by itself, the jacket with the shirt as well as with a t-shirt, three kinds of cuffs and the collar with five ties. There are a number of different colour shirt options to buy separately. Not a lot of adjustments were needed either. Which is always good. Oh, and the belt comes with it too.

I really like this hair is from Zero Style and theres a reason why I prefer to just wander around wearing nothing but a hair base or a hat. And that reason is that I’m rubbish at modding them to fit. And I had to modify this one a lot as bits were stabbing themselves into my neck and through my ears. But I persevered and as usual its looks fine. From a distance….

At L$2000 a go they aint cheap but you get so many versions of the skin in the pack including hairbase, eyeliner and body hair. Theres a selection of skin tones and facial hair types to choose from too.

Like yesterdays post, the hair/hat is from Find Ash and I bet there’s a few others that’ll find their way into my inventory from that store. Again, its script resizable and you can also change the textures. However, I seemed to have a bit of a problem with the red checked texture I wanted as the denim texture on the peak wouldn’t change. Maybe it’s meant to be like that but I reset it, logged in and out and even flung it in a corner and chucked potatoes at it – but all to no avail. Luckily it kinda goes with the jeans I’m wearing, so I lived with it. Still have a bit of a grump on though….

I also love this coat I picked up from Laqroki. A number of colours are available but I had to resize the bottom a little and shrink my butt to stop the cheeks from poking out of it. But my ass was probably too big anyway so perhaps it’s not a bad thing.

However, I like to play and create images and characters. I enjoy finding skins and making shapes for them. And that was how the pictures in todays post started out.

I saw a post at YouStyleSL featuring the new Christian skins from AtomicBambi so I picked one up, messed around for a bit and the results are below.

The hooded top is from Reek and I’m sure everyone has picked up one or two by now. They come in a range of colours and patterns but you can customise all the parts apart from the main body using the included HUD.

The shoes are old favourites from HOC. I used the preset white texture then colour tinted various parts to match the rest of the outfit.

And the idea was to set my dear friend Stacie Pryor a blogging challenge and for her to do the same for me. And to my surprise she agreed. Originally we were going to find one piece of clothing that we could both build an outfit around but after a total failure with that we both set each other a theme around movies. You can see the challenge I set for Stacie over at sheek, and the one she set for me was Tim Burton movies.

It gave me lots of scope. I thought of Beetlejuice (too dead) and Planet Of The Apes (too hairy – even for me) – and so I finally decided upon Sleepy Hollow which resulted in the outfit you can see here.

The coat is from Savvy Avvy and still available on Xstreet for L$50 The usual price is L$399, so its worth picking it up while the price is low.

The rest of the outfit is from Mire. The cane is from there too as well as the poses I’ve used with it which can be bought individually or as a hud.

1. Friends. And by that I don’t mean your bog standard internet friends or people you talk to / argue with in chat rooms. I mean people who are as valuable to me as the people I count as friends in RL. Theres only a few of them, mainly because I’m grumpy, stubborn and take the piss all the time. But they put up with me and I thank them for it.

2. A Purpose. And the purpose happens to be this blog. This blog gave me a reason to stay in SL. It gave me something to do when exploring and shopping had lost their appeal. It helped me develop skills I never though I had (and some may argue that I still don’t) and because of it I’ve been able to meet people and do things I never would have without it.

Anyway, I was taking a look at the site today when I came across this jacket. The pack includes this sleeveless version as well as a number of long sleeved ones with different coloured stripes down the arms. Matching pants are also includes – all for L$140.

The jeans and shirt are from Conners and unfortunately the collar defaults to the same attachment point as the hood of the jacket. So, I reattached it to my chest and after a bit of fiddling around it was fine.

The skin is a new(ish) release from Muism and I really like the freckles on this. There is a blonde option (which I’m wearing) or one with a more red hairbase available and demos can be checked out in-store.

Don’t you just hate it when you spend ages taking a set of photos, only to realise once you’ve finished that you’ve made yourself look like Indiana Jones?

It’s not a common problem I admit but one that I faced tonight. My options were that I could start over. Or not. I chose not. Besides, take the hat off and you have a decent outfit that doesn’t imply that you spend your days looking for the Lost Ark or the Holy Grail.

I’m so grateful that I don’t have to work during the weekends. Gives me a few days to recharge my batteries, catch up with friends and do some of the things that I enjoy doing. Like finding and listening to new music and spending a bit of time in SL of course.

During my wanderings around the grid this morning I picked up these boots from Anexx. They’ve been out a while and have been blogged to death, but if you don’t have them its worth picking up a pair while they’re half price.

The shirt is new from Aitui. I got a group message about it, took one look at the included picture and was down there to pick one up. It can be worn with or without the hood and straps on the chest and full and half sleeve versions are included in the pack.

I’m sure most of you know thats there’s a 50% off sale at Aoharu at the moment. It lasts until 24th January and I wandered down there last night to take a look around. I picked up a few things – including this jacket and shirt. They can be worn as one layer or separately and the main body of the jacket comes on the spine and chest attachment points. Just don’t be a prat and put on both at the same time like I originally did. It’s not a good look.

Anyway, I threw on one of my favourite new skins from Belleza, some retro shades my hairiest chest hair and couldn’t resist pulling a few Sabotage type poses for the pics.’Cause what you see you might not get.
