Its been almost a week since my last confession. Or should that be blog post? Either way it’s been longer than I usually go without posting and when you start gettings IM’s in world telling you to update because the sender has nothing to wear then you have to do something about it (btw, if that was you – apologies for not catching your name. SL crashed before I could make a note of it but you made me laugh).

So, I picked up this jacket from Amerie and teamed it with a few things loitering inside my inventory. For some reason, the bottom of the jacket is a tone darker than the rest of it. It resizes with a script and is no-mod so I couldn’t tint it back to white like I normally would. Theres a few other colours available in store in plain and checked designs.

Dear Monday,

I’m sure you’re a very nice Day of the Week. I’m sure all the other Days of the Week invite you around for dinner parties and buy you nice presents on your birthday. But I happen to not like you very much.

It’s nothing personal. It’s just that youre the first day of the working week. The day that ends the weekend and the day that makes me have to get up at stupid-o’clock to go and do stuff that I don’t want to do.

But when I get home I do occasionally get to do stuff I do like, like blogging. I get to log in Second Life and take pictures of this shirt from Aoharu with its colour change tie and this cool cardigan from !Ohmai (can cardigans be cool? I think so….) And I get to wear my new loafers from House Of Curios which didn’t cost me much and are colour change. And if I’d been in the group I could have have changed them to even more colours. But I’m not. So I couldn’t.

So. Monday. I guess youre not that bad really. I still won’t be inviting you to any dinner parties though…..

My inventory is full of crap. Its my second Rezz Day in July and I’ve NEVER cleaned it out. I’ve added much good stuff to the crap in that time but I’m a hoarder and never throw anything away. Just in case it comes in useful.

And today I needed a guitar because I thought it would go well with this outfit. I have a vague recollection of finding a free one in my newbie days and standing in a field strumming it. However one quick search of the inventory from hell and I found this one which we ALL have. Its part of the Musician Guy default avatar and so if you ever find yourself in desperate need of a guitar you can be safe in the knowledge that you have one to hand.

The shirt is a new release from Zaara. I’m sure I have at least one of every item of the mens collection from there and I think everyone needs a bit of Zaara in their inventory. Wonderfully textured as usual and I’m hoping that a range of waistcoats might eventually make their way into the collection. Well, you never know unless you put the thought out there….

The boots are from Duh! and are only L$20. The range down there is expanding all the time, the price is still ridiculously cheap and I defy you to not find something you’ll love.

I’ve not been sleeping well lately and last night was especially bad as I had a few things on my mind so I when I was finally able to drag my butt out of bed I logged on ,had a bit of a wander and pulled this look together.

I’d not been down to Signature Skin Labs for a while and found this skin which hadnt been available last time I was there. Loved the face and so got it. Theres various other tones and facial hair options to choose from.

Now, while I was walking through another store I experienced something I never thought I would in Second Life and that was for some idiot to make racist comments towards me based on the colour of my avatars skin. I should have gotten the avatars name and reported them but I was too stunned to think straight and they tp’d out before I could hunt them down.

Second Life is a diverse community. Regardless of your gender, race or sexuality its a place where you should be welcomed with open arms for being the person you are. People who use hate against others to validate their own existence are a total waste of a sperm and egg.

Anyway. The boots. Look at them. Very nice, aren’t they? Not cheap and they took a fair bit of adjusting but worth it I think.

I look like I smell.

No disrespect to any of the content creators whose stuff I’m wearing (all of which is great) but I think I’ve put too many distressed looking things together and now I think I look like a need a good bath. At least my hair is clean and shiny (which is free at Uw.St at the moment).

I often wear the Taped Fingers from SiniStyle and they’ve now released a version where the tape covers the hand and wrist and I just HAD to grab some when I found them. Theres loads of versions in the pack which also includes ones with and without nail polish.

1) Bank Holiday Weekends – which means an extra day off work. I just can’t seem to get enough sleep at the moment so an extra day to catch up is appreciated.

2) Food that isn’t good for me but it always tastes so damn good. I like it, but I’m trying not to eat it. My waistline will thank me. Eventually.

Plurk seems to have a bit of a reputation at the minute. Mainly because of the amount of drama and slanging matches that occur there. But there’s many people who use it who keep away from all that crap. Who use it to talk to friends away from Second Life. To share their ups and downs, the things they’ve made, done and found.

And it was because of Plurk that I wandered down to no.07 and picked up this skin which I had to get after checking out the demos. A number of facial hair options and skin tones are available, including a couple of freckled/red haired options, which is good to see. The skin has a slight seam down the side of the torso and at the base of the back which you may want to check out on the demos before you purchase. However, it wasnt severe enough to stop me buying one.

The jeans are from **Stash** and available for free as part of the Make Him Over Hunt which runs until 30th April. Conners are also participating in the hunt, so while your over there make sure you join the group and pick up this tattoo which is out as a group gift at the front of the store.

I love my hats. I’ve been accused of perverted indiscrepancies involving the misuse of my headwear. But its all lies. I like them because they’re easier to fit than hair and all the best ones are colour/texture change so you can wear them with loads of different stuff.

This cap from Ninikoboy is one of my new favourites. Love the shape, its colour changeable and easy to fit.

And if you havent got these glasses yet then please book an appointment with your doctor as soon as possible and go and get your head checked. I’ve blogged them a couple of times before, theyre from Solar Eyewear and still out as a freebie at the link below. You can change the colour, texture, opacity, position, etc using the included HUD. Just get the damn things if you havent already. You’ll thank me.

I always like it when I head out to look for something I’ve seen on a blog and end up finding a totally different store and buying something I wasnt looking for.

This scarf is a case in point. I found it at The Dogs and was more than pleased that it was only L$1. Theres also a brown version available for the same price.

The hat and hair is from Cheerno. The hat itself is grey, but as its modifiable, I edited the linked parts and colour tinted the hat parts to match the rest of the outfit.

I’m also wearing a wallet chain which I have to apologise for wearing. You see, I can’t find the store it’s from. Its been in my inventory for a while now but there no landmark in the folder. I looked up the creator, but couldn’t find it in their current store. So I shouldnt really have used it, but I’d already taken the pictures and life’s to short to redo them. However, I’ve sure there’s other places that do similar things if its something your virtual life cannot do without….

There are certain things which we need. Like oxygen. Water. And maybe pizza.

Shoes shouldnt really make it into that list but I saw an advert for these new shoes from NSD and I needed them. So I got them. They come with a HUD which enables you to change the colour of each section to one of your choosing as well as add glow and shine. I was quite partial to the basic white that they are when you first wear them, but after a bit of fiddling with HUD (which took me a while as I didnt read the included instructions at first) I added a bit of colour.

I think I may be colour phobic. You see, I was looking at these scarves at Sensual Mistery and they’re available in tons of colours. And which did I go for? The black one. But there was thinking behind the decision as I’d already bought this shirt from there (which also happens to be black) and I figured a black scarf would go with so much other stuff that I have. Except the other stuff also happens to be black…..

Anyway, the shirt itself comes with a hood which can be worn up or down.

I’m also wearing the Mark skin from Lavie in the eyeliner option but I wanted the eyes to be darker so I created some using the tattoo layer on Viewer 2. I had no intention of posting again today. When you get to my age, once a day is more than enough but I got my hands on this new hair from Shag and just had to do something with it.

And I also put on this great little necklace from [NC] which I failed to show in any detail in the pictures but it has a smiley face pendant on it so go down to the store, join the group and pick it up for free.

I have a few things from {theosophy} in my skybox which I love to bits and as soon as the group notice came through that these boots had just been released I had to pop over and check them out. Three colours are available and they are very well priced. They come as all one part which attaches to the lower leg of the avatar with an invisiprim on the foot. However, I wanted to wear the cuff of these jeans on the lower leg. So, as I’m using the Viewer 2 version of Snowglobe at the moment I was able to wear an Alpha Mask from another pair of boots, re-attach these boots to my foot and then attach the jean cuffs to my lower leg.

The hat and hair is available until the end of the month from MADesigns as part of the Make Him Over Hunt and the cap itself is colour change. And the jeans are a new release at Muism. I really like the ripped and frayed texture on these and as ever, different colour options are available.

Some days you’re the pigeon and some days you’re the statue.

For the past few days I’ve been the statue. I was looking forward to a long weekend without work to get some blogging done and to mess around with my new skybox. But I’ve had viewer issues. And I lost my custom Windlight settings. And I couldn’t buy any L$. And once I’d sorted all of that out I found I had fashion block and couldn’t pull an outfit together that I was happy with.

But today is a brand new day. I came back at it with a fresh pair of eyes and managed to cobble something together.

I love the texture on this jacket from Meriken. It’s also available in lime green and orange and I chose to team it with this shirt from Aoharo. Now here’s a few words of warning – both these pieces have sculpted parts at the bottom and while you can wear both together they tend to interfere with each other and not in a fun, consenting adults kind of way. A fair bit of adjusting is needed but worth it if you have the time and patience and don’t mind them creeping up your butt occasionally.

I set myself a challenge tonight and that challenge was to do a blog post in an hour – from starting with nothing and then going shopping, pulling the outfit together and taking the photos. And guess what? I failed. But only by 15 minutes or so.

I blame this vest from BareRose. It’s all one sculpted piece and I love it but I had to adjust it for every picture I took and hunt around for poses that didn’t embed it in my avatar.

I wore it over this sweater and shirt combo from Ducknipple which I wore over a shirt from Whippet and Buck as I’m feeling a little cold in RL tonight and felt like I needed an extra layer. The sweater is available in a number of colours and can be bought individually or as a fatpack.

I’m not usually one to follow the herd but there’s a new hair store just opened. I’d seen a few pictures on Young Urban, liked what I saw and made a mental to note to take a look around sometime. But I logged in today to a message from Stacie Pryor saying I had to check it out. And because Stacie is always right, I went down there a picked this one up. Theres only a few styles available at the moment, and I’m sure every man, dog and its fleas will be blogging the place soon (if they havent already), but pop down and check them out.

I was also lucky enough to be sent a few things from SF Design recently and I loved this coat and suit set as soon as I put it on. It comes with a shirt and a colour change tie but decided to wear it without and added the brooch (or ‘man jewelry’ as I’m gonna call it because brooch is too much of a girly word…..)

I was gonna post these pics earlier but my afternoon nap raged out of control. And the fact that I needed a nap on a Saturday afternoon makes me feel older than I am, but sod it – I like a nap now and then.

Anyway – the clothes. I’ve had the hoodie (which is tied around my waist) for ages and in fact it was featured in one of my first posts. It’s from :SEY and I have to admit that I’ve not gone down there to check if its still available. So I apologise if it’s not, but you really should have picked one up ages ago so the shames on you….. just kidding.

You can also see the bottom of a shirt peeking out but it’s not from the Argrace shirt I’m wearing. I needed something on the pants layer and this particular shirt doesn’t come with that so I used one from an Aoharu shirt instead – and you never would have guessed if I hadn’t told you. I’m sneaky like that.

I may have mentioned once or twice or maybe twelve times that music plays a huge part in my life. And I’m getting a little excited as the initial line up for the festival I go is announced next week. And therefore I thought it was apt to use these headphones I picked up at [NC] in today’s post. They are colour change, re-sizable and also come with an optional microphone so you can pretend that it’s actually your avatar talking when you’re using voice.

The cardigan is from Somapop and is available in 6 different colours (I think). It only comes on the jacket layer for some reason, but it’s reasonably priced.

I’d not been over to Kal Rau for a while, so I went, I spent, and ended up with this jacket. The shirt and sweater are included but it can also be worn without. I especially like the attachments on the bottom of this which include a Swiss Army knife and a key, but can be worn without if so desired. But I desired to and so I did.

And I never realised that LeLutka did hair until I saw this post over at SLookBook. The hat is texture change from a multitude of different options which are arranged into categories. From there each texture choice is numbered with no description of the colour which is a pain to find the one you want. But I still like it.

It’s been a long yet fun week. Well, work has been its usual pain in the arse but I was lucky enough to go to a couple of gigs this week. Once of which involved a bit of a road trip which was well worth it and you can check out one of the artists I saw by clicking on the ‘Now Playing’ link at the end of the post.

Anyway. The clothes. The jacket is from Primitive Design and comes in a number of colours. The only prim part is the collar and the shape of the sleeves is created from the shirt layer which you wear with it.

And then there’s the boots. Which I totally love. They take a little adjustment but they resize with a script.

I love it when I get my grimy little mitts on things that make me do my best Bill & Ted impression. This involves the cessation of all rational thought, a slightly slack jaw and the shrinking of my vocabulary to the word ‘Woah…’

The Rock’n’Rolla jacket from Naith Smit is a case in point and got the above reaction when I first put it on. I love the details on the lapels and especially the cross hanging from the pocket.

These shoes from 2REAL are pretty special too. Fantastically sculpted and textured and the textures of each individual part can be customised using the included HUD. You can also change the laces to be undone, tied, etc. Just wish I’d had more time to take a decent close up of them tonight. But I will. Eventually…

Damn you, Argrace. Damn you for making hats that look great and are colour change and are easy to fit and have great hair textures and for making me buy all of them. Damn my hat addiction too. Which makes it my fault really and not Argraces.

But I do love this new military hat and it’s quite fortunate that I was looking for something to go with the new military shirts from FIR. I’ve always liked the stuff from FIR and each new release gets better and better. The cords I’m wearing are from there too (and they come on the pants AND underwear layer which is such a plus point). Loads of colours to choose from and I love the little details on the shirt such as the studs on the collars and the epaulettes.

For some bizarre reason I’m having great difficulty with things rezzing at the moment. I tp into a place and have to stand around for a week and a half before the greyness subsides and I can work out where the hell I am.

Luckily, I’ve been able to occasionally see through the murky soup that SL has become to pull together a few outfits.

This one mainly uses pieces from Phoenix Rising and there’s so much great stuff to pick up down there. You can buy pieces individually or put together into complete outfits if you happen to be co-ordinationally challenged.

Typical. Just a few days ago I have a tiny moan about the shortage of mens hair at Truth (in comparison to the womans section, anyway), and what happens? A new male hair is released. And I really like it too. Now all I need is Mr. Hawks to make a nice chunky mohawk and call it Bronson and I’ll be one happy chappy. Well, we can all wish, can’t we….

The coat is from Mini Me – a store I first saw mentioned over at YouStyleSl and what I like about this coat is that the bottom section is on the skirt layer. No prim parts to adjust (apart from the collar and cuffs) – although its worth making your butt a bit smaller when wearing it, as any lady who wears system skirts will tell you.

Dear Residents of Second Life,

I have a request. It’s quite a simple one and its one that some of you may indeed enjoy. I don’t mean to encroach on your lives any more than is necessary but if you happen to be passing by me one day and I  happen to say, ‘I just think I’ll take a quick look around :SEY’, then please, please stop me. A rugby tackle would be appropriate. Or maybe use a stun gun if you have one to hand. But just try to stop me because every time I go there I end up buying stuff. And if I don’t buy a lot there’s always stuff I want to go and get later.

Anyway, I went there today. And I bought this top. And these boots. And almost some other stuff but luckily my Linden balance ran dry and I came to my senses. The top is available in other colours and you can buy the boots in a number of different pattern options (I want for the plain corduroy ones) and they are colour change.

Now excuse me while I go and have a stern talk to myself about my spending habits…..
