With creators still adding new content, it’s definitely worth stalking your favourite stores over the weekend to ensure you’re not missing out.
Glitterati have launched a mass of new content, all of which deserves a mention but couldn’t possibly be crammed into one post. I owe the idea for this outfit to my great friend Takeshi Ugajin. When I was preparing for the hunt, I asked him what he would like to see by HAVANA and he came up with this suggestion: a tank top in white and red that could be worn with a cardigan in dark grey. Spring has come ! According to Japanese weather bureau reports, this year cherry blossoms have come out about 6 days earlier than usual in Tokyo. Yesterday I was bumming around. You know, just hanging out. Yeah, just wanderin. You know how that goes? An SL friend sent me a link to go check out a monastery. I tend to like nice secluded places. In a way, I am somewhat monastic in my approach to life, both virtual and non-virtual. Not that I never do things spontaneously, like combust. I do that a lot. But I like to think about stuff. There are so many fairs and other events going on right now that I’ve been rushing around the grid and spending money like it’s going out of fashion. This evening I rested my weary feet by the Accessory Fair catwalk, and of course the jewellery was the focus of my personal styling for the event.
Most of my jewellery is from alaMood; the necklace, earrings and ring are crafted in gold and set with diamonds and rubies. The necklace is particularly unusual, a solid torc looping around the back of the neck, lying open to the front, ends termed with gemstones. The earrings too are interesting, running from a hook fastening to two strung diamonds, with pendant rings and more stones to the front.

In the process of making clothes for avatars in Second Life, I have always considered creating wrinkles one of the most difficult parts. Though the steps to make wrinkles “appear” are relatively simple, the major problem there is to achieve a “reality” effect. That’s why I have decided to write this post: in order to share a different method from the ones that are disseminated in tutorials on the internet that deal specifically with clothes for SL AVs; and, by doing so, to contribute with the knowledge on this subject. After all, when I started designing clothes for SL AVs and developing HAVANA, it was mainly as an opportunity to learn and experiment – and it is time now to help others to learn and experiment as well.

Real life’s been keeping me busy, but I thought I’d make the time to blog this look inspired by the work of Agnes Finney and Alienbear Gupte who are giving revenue from this month’s sales of both items to the charity ‘Keep a Child Alive’. Essentially you’re supporting a good cause and getting some pretties for your avie, so it’s a completely justifiable shopping spree.
The gown by Agnes Finney is supremely glam, the patterned bodice cinched with a sash at the waist. The satin skirt flounces out at the hip, falling down below the knee: a lace petticoat protrudes from beneath. The definitive feature of course is the latticework of blackened peacock feathers which sit as an overlayer, the styling picked up again in this beautiful jewellery set from Alienbear Gupte.
