Are you having a beautiful week? I am. Despite seriously struggling with my doggie’s terminal illness, I am immersing myself in her loveliness and making each moment count. I am her human mother and she is my canine baby…we love each other beyond words and this is what drives me to put her first. To do the right thing when its required and to hold her in my arms at home when it comes time to call the vet and send her to doggie Heaven wrapped in my love.

That said, I wanted to put together some Niven magic centered around the Niven Wing Lash and Geisha Lip tattoo layer. This whole tattoo phenomena available in Viewer 2 has opened up a new world of fashion styling to me and I love it. To be able to meld a Belleza body with a Niven face (or any combination) is simply wonderful.

I’m wearing pieces from the Niven’s Monochrome Collection, the nautica top and Autoro shorts. I love the play on vertical and horizontal stripes that I followed through with the Ye Ye bag from Simay Creations introducing a hint of red.

In previous posts I mentioned my new find jewelery shop, Fairy Tale, thanks to Jennaa Loire’s guest appearance on Fabulous Fashion, and here are some more pieces from this amazing designer. The ring and bracelets are group gifts and I fell in love with the Glasses Necklace, which like all their pieces, is intricately detailed. The earrings are just amazing too. Called Prayer Pierce, they are amazing to look at up close. xxxriexxx Serevi is the creative mastermind behind Fairy Tale and I hope you get yourselves over there for a look.

Again I’m wearing Kalnins Wonder shoes as I love them. I can’t stop looking at the leather texture that gently folds over itself on the topside of the shoe. Opening up my extensive hat cupboard, I couldn’t resist a little dress hat made by Kikis Homewood.

I particularly wanted to mention the setting for these pics. I visited Kyoot in Silent and was immediately taken with the amazing layout of this store. I ventured outside and found this scene.

I have so enjoyed the evolution of Miah McAuley’s skin label, Tik Tok. Her recent release of her new line called Stella is a triumph in my opinion. Miah dropped these on me a little while ago and to be honest, I was struggling for time to get everything I had planned to blog on the blog. Tonight I had a few moments and tried on Stella. I’m so glad I did because I really do love this skin. Available in Light, Medium, Suntan and Dark, I chose to show the Light tone. The make up names are called Cat, Jade, Lady, Nude and Silver as shown below.

They are classy, elegant make ups with soft eyeshadow and glossy lips. I’ve shown the skins using the cleavage option. I also really like the brow shape on these.

I am wearing this gorgeous little lingerie set called Crystal, a freebie from Noon Twine’s shop called Noon.

I recently watched Fabulous Fashion with Angie Mornington. I love Angie’s show and was thrilled to watch two episodes featuring Sevenstar Amat from Stitch By Stitch as guest designer and another with Jennaa Loire as guest stylist. I love both these people, not only because they are sweet darlings, but also for their immense contributions to SL fashion and lifestyle. Good on you girls.  Do check out their episodes on Fabulous Fashion. Jennaa’s appearance on the show led me to check out Fairy Tale jewelery. The ring, earrings and necklace are all group gifts but I would suggest you go over and look for yourself. The detailing of the pieces is stunning.

Last but not least, I’m wearing the Vanity Hair piece in black called Venice and a black hair base from Tiny Bird that allows you to wear it with any skin.

After my shoot I jumped in the spa and enjoyed the beauty of my surroundings.

A big thank you to Maris Kanto, designer of Kalnins shoes and shades. Once again, Mr Kanto has shared his new release shoe with blogger’s and this is one right out the shoe box. Appropriately called Wonder, I have entirely fallen in love with this smart strappy heel with excellent shading and delightful tootsies. What I adore about Kalnins’ prim toed shoes is the easy to operate hud. I consider myself the perfect gauge for huds, because I am so challenged, if I can use it, anyone can.

I would just love this shoe in RL. Its stylish and really does look comfortable.

I wanted to bring out this lovely top to show you, beautifully designed by Fhara Acacia from Ricielli . I purchased this from The Dressing Room Blue as Ms Acacia is a member of this designers group who provide quality items at a discount. I couldn’t go past this Batik Gold Bag from Baiastice. The skirt is from Cubic Effect, a buy from some time ago but I’m sure if they don’t have this, there will be something similar.

Hello darlings.  After a mare of a working week, it’s finally Friday night and I  wanted to blog my other Chantkare dress that I purchased on sale, my new Vanity Hair piece that was made to wear with the stunning Lionskins Nova line.

Applonia Criss from Chantkare does amazing stuff and I love this Paradiso dress in lovely shades of purple, pink and red for a mere $175L’s. Proving that a little ingenuity can reap rewards, I used a set of bracelets I purchased from Vain that were modifiable and textured the bands I didn’t want to transparent leaving this purple section on show. I love the match.  The hair piece I’m wearing is Venice from Vanity Hair, a stunning keratin flower with a whispy long piece draping down to the shoulder.  Of course my Lionskin Nova make up in blonde provides the perfect hair base that ties it all together.  I wore my favorite of favorite shoes, Aequus from Maitreya Gold and colored them red and pink.  To finish off, I wore my Pink Tourmaline Chandelier earrings from Paper Couture.

Best of luck to all the nominees in the Second Style Stylies competition. I particularly want Jennaa Loire to win in the blogger’s section. Jennaa puts together some wonderful blogs about modeling, fashion and SL lifestyle and I would be just thrilled if she won. Go Jennaa Go.

Is anyone else feeling a shift in SL lately? I’ve been in world since the latter part of 2007 and I’ve never felt this way about it before. I don’t know what it is exactly and can’t really verbalize it but it seems like every other day someone or something is leaving SL. I was so shocked to hear that Digit Darkes is the latest to turn off the lights and I just feel quite sad that wonderful label is no more. There’s definitely change in the air and I don’t like it. I want all those familiar people and brands to stay just as they are.

On the other hand though, there’s anew generation of designers and creators coming in to keep the torch burning. I hope they can manage to keep it fresh and that this isn’t the beginning of the end for SL. I do wonder why my gut instincts are screaming at me right now though. Is business really that bad?

I love to get the drum on new releases and last night I got just that. Ms Maika Koray, the designer behind Mayden Couture, sent me a review copy of the about to be released Michelle Skin. In the folder were two skin tones, one dark and one lighter. Unfortunately I haven’t been able to contact Maika to confirm the names of the two tone’s; however, I opted to show the lighter skin. I also don’t have a date of release for this skin but if I can catch up with Maika I’ll pass it on.

As I always do when I review something, I visited Mayden Couture to get a feel for the product and to cast my eye over the existing skin range. Mayden Couture was an impressive enterprise. The skins are beautifully presented in vendor posters and the clothing, shoe, eye, nail, hair range available ensures there is something for everyone. Definitely a one-stop-shop for fashion lovers.

I think the face make up is just gorgeous and I’m particularly enamored by the lips and chiseled nose.

I love the shading on the tummy. Quite different in my opinion as the rib cage is prominent and gives the impression of a model think physique.

I am definitely going to be wearing this skin a LOT. It’s very easy on the eye and I think it just pops out at you. I love the hip bones also although I haven’t captured them in these shots. As always my advice is to take a trip to Mayden Couture and demo, demo, demo. I would like to congratulate Maika on a fabulous skin that was an absolute pleasure to present.

The stunning swimsuit I’m wearing is from Elymode, hair piece is from Vanity Hair, shoes from Maitreya Gold and the black hair base is from Tiny Bird.

Lion Jonesford, skin designer and CEO of Lionskins has been transforming us into creatures of beauty for some time now and her recent skin line, Nova, is a testament to her immense and indisputable talents. You can’t go past Lionskins for print and runway work because of the vivid, artistic make ups that come in a plethora of options to satisfy the most imaginative stylist. What is even more wonderful is the pairing of Tabata Jewell from Vanity Hair and Lionskins to create a skin/hair fusion so amazing that I ran right out of my NCore Cherie Passion Heels in my hurry to get it all on. Tabata has put together a selection of hair pieces made specifically for Lion’s Nova range. What a thrill and advancement this is in hair/skin offerings and the moment I cammed back to view my outfit, I just smiled with a sense of satisfaction. SL is just going from strength to strength. Artistically that is, not fiscally.  The hair I’m wearing is China Temptation in Blond.

I found this wonderful Chantkare dress called Ascot at Applonia Criss’ store at GOL that was on sale for $150L. Its divine and I chose this to wear with my new Lionskin/Vanity Hair purchase. A profusion of strong colors and almost Aztec in its pattern, I paired it with the Old Batik Indi bag from Baiastice. I think it works beautifully together.

You know I am a Simay devotee (see previous posts) and these earrings and necklace are called Gold and Coral. They are just so pretty and unlike some jewelery in SL that isn’t so good in the flesh, these are even better than the vendor poster. Thank you Silvia Mayo (designer) for being so kind to me yesterday. Big hugs. I hope you have all gone for a visit to her store?  I promise you won’t be disappointed.

As I said, I’m wearing my new NCore Cherie Xtreme Heels in Red Passion. I love the luster and worn feel of these shoes.

I finished off with my favorite watch, the Flight Compass from the wonderful Indyra Seigo from Indyra Originals. Now if you are lazy like me and prefer to shop than roost on a pose stand trying to align lashes, Tattanooga at Jador Fashion are selling a fat pack of mascara tattoo’s. Five different styles for a mere $500L’s and no crying over the pose stand. It paid for itself by not having to put money in the swear jar.

Mirror, mirror on the wall. Am I the most beautiful wearing LeeZu of all?? Well you can’t help but be beautiful in her fabulous frocks.

I dropped by LeeZu’s GOL store the other day and saw this outfit from her Noir range. I just loved the lines. Simple but with a huge kick in the ass impact. It was a perfect chance to wear my new Boon hair called XFE275. I adore this hair so much and thank you boo Nakamura for dreaming it up.

I wanted to present this dress called Moonlight on the runway because that sprung to mind the minute I tried it on. Maitreya’s Salience Heels were the only one’s I thought of to pair with this dress….I love the fusion of these two designers in this ensemble.

Moonlight features gorgeous inlaid sequins that glisten as you glide. The deep split of the short skirt amps up the sexiness of this little black dress if that is at all possible. I love how the modest Victorian collar sits atop of the sheer bodice with a hint of nipple peeking through. Brilliant LeeZu, just brilliant.  I went minimalist with jewelery just wearing my Broadway Star Cocktail rings from Magpie and one earring, the limited edition Black Diamond from 24 Shoo Shoes.  I found a little veil that I thought would just finish it off.  Voila…I’m ready for the show.

I went shopping at Stylissimo at GOL and found a gorgeous looking shop with fabulous displays. Of course I wanted everything but I fell in love with this outfit called “Long Fly Home”. Living in Australia, almost wherever I go it’s a long, long flight home and I wouldn’t mind wearing this on the plane. Until of course I slip into my first class sleeper suit.

Being partial to tartan, kilts and men in kilts, this is my preferred look if I were being interviewed for ‘Country Life Magazine’ showing them around my big castle. Unfortunately I didn’t get any further than the BonBon sim. A lovely little spot for snaps…soft light, great textures and buildings designed by one of my favorites, Yacchan Clip. Do go see his shop, ‘Y’s House, at the Creator’s Pavilion.

If you haven’t been to The Dressing Room BLUE, a fabulous shop of discounted items from some of SL’s most notable designers, you simply must. Along with other terrific items all sold below $70L’s, I purchased this dress with belt called Chained Dress and Mega Earrings all made by [ glow ] studio. I don’t wear white enough so thought I’d just present this outfit where chains feature heavily.

Yes that is a speeding train in the background but I can assure you no Chalice’s were harmed in the taking of these shots.

I did also want to mention that I had a shop-a-thon at NCore. I’d never been there before but I recall people talking about their shoes. I must say I’m very impressed. These are called Infinity XTreme Heels and believe me they should come with a license to walk they’re so fabulously high. I normally steer clear of white shoes because they can look a dirty gray color but I love these. With cool attachments you can add or remove and the ability to color change them, you get variety. The numerous NCore shoes with prim feet I purchased were between $595 and $695L’s. Excellent value and oh so easy to operate.

I’ve mentioned before that I love dreadies and these are the ultimate I’ve seen in SL for blondes. From Boon, the BAB853 (give it a name please – I call it Chalice’s Marley) is my new favorite hair and totally how I would love my hair to look in RL. I love the juxtaposition of a superbly beautiful girl with hair that makes you wonder how it got to be that way and keeps morphing into a different sculpture as it grows.

I’m not one for divulging much about RL in SL because in a way, I consider this my sanctuary from my day-to-day existence. A wonderful existence I might add but one that is crazy busy and sometimes too hectic even for me. I haven’t posted in a few days and thought I’d just check in to say that I’ve just taken a bit of time to digest my sad news…sad to me anyway. My doggie’s got cancer and only has between two to six months before it takes her. To be honest, she really isn’t my doggie, she’s my baby, my best friend, my joy. Unfortunately it has progressed to the stage that it is essentially untreatable and while every part of me wants to try everything, my love for her is too great to let her suffer unnecessarily. I’ve chosen to give her quality of life rather than quantity. She’s nearing 13 so while I hoped she would live into her late teens, age is against her.

I absolutely want to make these last months as peaceful, comfortable and loving as I possibly can but I know after I make the decision that enough is enough, I’ll be heart broken.

So if you could send positive affirmations to my darling one, I’d be so grateful. I now have to shake off the sadness and just enjoy the moments.

Here I am in my favorite bed from Dutchie. I really love this bed Froukje and the creases in the cover are such a wonderful touch.

I just couldn’t wait to blog these skins. Couldn’t wait I tell you. I have a job on at the moment but took a break to show you these. Mea Carnell, the designer at Aimesi selling skins, hair and fashion sent me a message asking if I would be interested in doing a wee story on one of her newly released skins, Leona. I took one look at the picture she sent and jumped at the chance. From that photo, the quality and Mea’s obvious talent just oozed out at me and I wondered once again why I hadn’t visited Aimesi before. Being the rock dweller that I am these days, sometimes the awesomeness of creators has to come to me unfortunately. Anyway these are some seriously brilliant skins. Brilliant enough to make me want to run back for fat packs in every style. No, I’m not that rich but I wanted to.

As I have said before, I personally would prefer to show skins somewhat differently to other wonderful skin reviewers. I not being one of the wonderful by the way. I will leave their level of critique to the initiated as I simply know what I love. And these I love!

Excuse the boobs but I love these nipples. ME LOVES MY NIPPLES. And I love the hands and the nails. I love the lips…so pouty and kissable. I love the bone structure of the nose and around the eyes. I’m a Leona girl and I’m not sorry.

Now I did a bit of research for this unlike my previous posts where I just show you the pics. I trotted along to Aimesi and found Leona in all her glory. There are three skin tones in this case, being Cashmere (the paler skin that I’m wearing in these snaps), Cream and Caramel. For a fat pack of 6 delicious make ups, you pay only $4000L or individually, they are $900. Exceptional for a skin of this quality in my opinion.

Please, please go and have a look see. I am giving these skins 5 nipples out of 5. Yes folks…I’m grading skins with nipples because they are very underrated part of the anatomy I feel.

I have put together the style card below but just wanted to give honorable mentions to my earrings from Simay Italian Fashion – my new favorite shop don’t ya know, my dress from the amazing Casa Del Shai and this hair from Sugarcube. I have to particularly mention my eyes in these photo’s. I am a serious Nany Merlin devotee of her Expressive Eyes but the darling designer at Avantgarda Creations, Rebeca Bashly, sent me the eyes you see above. I wore Blue, Inwoods and Swamp for this shoot and I must say they are fabulous. Really fabulous. So for the hard to please eye connoisseur, grab the cab and take them for a test drive. I think the white of the eye is just the most realistic color I have seen. Thank you Rebeca xx. You have got me out of my comfort eye and I’ll be wearing these a lot.

My first introduction was her fashion label and I was bowled over by her style and ability to replicate a range of what appears to be RL wearable fashion in SL.  Walk through the boutique and everything is presented in it’s entirety.  By that I mean she gives the shopper an entire look from hat’s to jewelery to shoes and bags styling each outfit to perfection.

I haven’t been as thrilled with discovering a collection of this quality for some time and I simply could have purchased the entire shop.  I had my eye on this outfit for a while and wanted to present this in my blog as an example of a Simay Creation.  This is called ‘Dark Zebra’ incorporating the hat, jacket, scarf and gorgeous skirt. Silvia has a wonderful, wonderful eye for fashion and her pieces are unique and quite unlike what you see around everyday.  I purchased some boots that I will create an outfit around in the near future and I was so thrilled with them.  I swear I haven’t seen anything like them.

I find her designs sophisticated, unique and very realistic in terms of material, texture, cut and flow. I just can’t wait to explore more of her clothing and vast array of accessories for future LOTD. I’m sure many of you have had the pleasure of a Simay experience but still, it feels like my little secret.

I love a bit of Burberry. In fact, I love anything with berry in it. Here I am in my kitchen about to cook some coffee. I mean I’m a modern independent, high achieving, self-sufficient kind of girl and I do for myself. I can cook, clean and keep my beach retreat looking spick. So what if my culinary skills stretch to coffee and toast. At least I dress like I mean business.

I really like this combo taken from a little bit of this and that.

See those pots down there? I take great pride in the fact that they’ve never been used and are still as shiny as the day I brought them. Those cook books in the background from Dutchie are there for show too. I only ever read fashion mags.

And that sink? Well it’s there for decoration really and glistens like the Krupp diamond. Why waste water when I can just throw my plates out and return to Lapointe & Bastchild Designs for more. You see I am instrumental in keeping the SL economy going. Ta Ta.

Now I am absolutely loving the Viewer 2.1 Beta. I am so confused about why 1.23 crashed all the time, Emerald looses my inventory and viewer 2 seemed to give me graphic glitches. This Beta version is da bomb for me. We have just clicked and I’m really enjoying SL like I haven’t experienced in ages.

As promised, here is a new release from my favorite lifestyle designer, Ms Froukje Hoorenbee of Furniture & House by Dutchie.

If you value your personal SL environment, you will undoubtedly know this amazing brand simply by the name Dutchie. I unfortunately came across Froukje’s amazing work quite late which is a terrible shame as I would have surrounded myself with her brand of wonderful much earlier. Anyway, Froukje and I spoke last week and she shared with me her new amazing creation, The Dutchie Office made as a sky box. Please feast your eyes on the pictures and forgive me my rather heavy use of photo’s in this post but when you find something like this, you must give it all the fan fare you can muster.

I really wanted to capture the incredible detailing of the build and dressings of this quality structure. It is being released this weekend so do make sure you drop in and see it for yourself. The prim usage, both unfurnished and furnished is very conservative so you have no excuse for not taking care of business.

I’m always tickled to receive a package from Fashionboi Landar of House of Fox because I always know I’m in for a treat. I wasn’t disappointed when I hastily whipped on the contents to find this razor sharp number called Couture in Black that included a hat and huge diamante crusted earrings. What I always appreciate with Ms Landar’s creations is the fact that she makes skins as dramatic and intense as her clothing line so you can really go to town and let your inner Ga Ga out to play.

I couldn’t resist showing off my golden booteh’s from Bax too. These boots are fab, fab, fab.  Look at the details – skilled shading and realistic leather folds around the lower boot.  Brilliant.

One of my favorite sims used to be Carnival Of Doom. It seriously scared the crap out of me which I know is really stupid but it did have an atmosphere of doom n dread. Taking a visit to the ZombiePopcorn SL Carnival, it was reminiscent of that sim and the mystery that seems to surround carny folk. I have always had a bit of an aversion to carnivals and circuses…something about the transient nature of them. A world created full of lights, sounds and smells one minute, and like a phantom, gone the next leaving a wake of litter in its place.

I walked the shops, rode the dodgem cars, navigated the fun house and it was a hoot. So if you want to see a great sim and enjoy all the fun of the fair, take this TP to the ZombiPopcorn SL Carnival. But beware…the man murdering circus clown might get ya.

The lovely Shai Delacroix, fashion designer extraordinaire of Casa Del Shai fame, sent me her new Summer 2010 release of this gorgeous dress called La Eleganza. Shai has been making hand-painted and sculpted clothing in SL since 2006 and at the Fashion Blogger’s Choice Awards of 2007 was voted ‘Best of’ in many categories. One can only imagine that what Shai doesn’t know about SL clothing construction is hardly worth mentioning.

Well my little darlings I’m back. What you say? Didn’t know you’d gone? Don’t be so cheeky.

My short hiatus commenced as above. Sitting in my living room recently, that whiny annoying, pain in the ass inner voice of mine said, ‘You need a change of living space’. ‘Oh God not again’ screamed my logical voice of reason.  While I love, adore, idolize my NotSoBad Dubai house I knew resistance was futile. I took off trawling the grid for a new home. I am the Imelda Marcos of Pre-Fabs and I’ll do it again, mark my words. This post is an eclectic collection of drivel so don’t scowl, scroll, if you don’t want to read.

I’ve been everywhere man. I have scoured the length and breadth of SL and poured over the Lifestyle Blogs to see what floated my boat. I do this every time I create a new space, I’m possessed and maniacal until I finish it.

In the end I chose the Beach House designed by tunes Meness from 2Xtreme. I visited it quite some time ago and recalled how the earthiness of it resonated with me. While I drooled over many houses, it was this one I want to live in this week (oh God make it longer than a week-I’m exhausted). I will do a pictorial of my new space when I have the time. Here I am on this amazing meditation pillow from the beautiful mind of Isolahara Catteneo, genius of Mudshake. Go there people…it’s illustrious.  You can see a bit of my Beach House in the background.

Seriously, who would think to make a girly coffin to chillax in? Isolahara that’s who? It’s got everything a girl could want and an ash tray for my sly ciggie.  Ok so the coffin is a bit short for the Cha but you can’t have everything in one little box.

I then took a ride to Mudhoney and love is an understatement. Looking at all the loveliness, I stumbled upon this little box that was full of furniture. I do believe the extraordinary Ms Rayvn Hynes has developed little themed photography boxes. I will check this out later but popped in the Shabby Chic room for a photo as you can see below.  If I am incorrect I do apologize but I did see a range of theme’s to choose from in vendor posters and this is such a great idea for ppl with little space.

As you can see, I haven’t changed my clothes for 3 days but it’s okay because these little Pantaloon inspired shorts are part of the The Niven Collection MonoChrome II-Autoro White designed by my favorite designer, Scarlett Niven. The entire outfit is a gem and I seriously don’t wish to live my life out of these shorts.  A walk through The Niven Collection Boutique tells you that Scarlett has an amazing grasp of fashion.  When I wear her pieces, I always think RL and that is what lifts her above many in the game, the game being SL fashion.

I have neglected my darling Truth Hawkes. Mr Truth doesn’t know me at all but I do call him my darling because he makes my hair stand on end. I haven’t had a Truth shop-a-thon for a few weeks so headed there to snap up my favorites but what I snapped was this shot. I must say I’m not very impressed with this do. Me thinks the dog must have gone a round with this one Truth.  Or perhaps this man and/or pygmy brought it elsewhere?  Yeah that’s it…Truth would never use such cheap shampoo.

Now I have a very special treat for you coming soon.  One of my most favorite lifestyle creators, Ms Froukje Hoorenbeek from Furniture and Houses by Dutchie has designed something very special and I’ll be featuring it in Chalice In Wonderland just prior to it’s release.  OMG I’m excited.  Stay tuned.  You’ll love it.

Chalice is as tall as can be and often struggles with non-modify pants.

I found three examples in my inventory to support my dilemma when it comes to skirts and sometimes dresses. I assume its because I am so tall that with non-mod pants that I can’t make shorter, the skirt/dress prims aren’t long enough to cover the pants. In most instances, I can’t lower the skirt enough to rectify the problem. I’m sure others are in the same boat so can I ask designers to consider making glitch pants modifiable so that your gorgeous outfits look their best and don’t have pants hanging below the hems? I have quite a few outfits I just can’t wear because of this which is a shame.

The dress is Niven called Kashmir Konnection and a real fav of mine. I think Scarlett Niven’s extreme talent must have sent her mad because she’s selling this dress for the meager sum of $10L. I mean that is insane but thank you Scarlett…I love this profusion of color and texture. Look at the quirky brooch that hangs over the chest…it’s gorgeous.

I am wearing my new favorite skin from Inaya called Kimshara. It has a dark hair base just perfect to attach Inaya’s Maya hair piece that hangs over one eye…it’s edgy I think.

These pictures are taken at a cool sim called Viceland. Not that you can see from these pics, but its awesome for photo taking so take a trip there and let your imagination run free.

Take care everyone. It’s a long weekend in Australia for the Queen’s Birthday. Poor people from the U.K. don’t even get to have a day off. Happy Birthday Lizzie (and I don’t mean Lizzie Lexington although if it’s your birthday too, Happy Birthday Lizzie L.). 

Not that it will ever be read by them but I wanted to send a message of condolence to all the Linden Lab employees that have unfortunately been let go.  One third of the workforce is a lot of people and I can’t help but wonder what impact this will have on service.  I do want to say thank you to all of you who have undoubtedly contributed in a multitude of ways to maintaining and improving SL and I wish you all the very best in whatever you do.  I know we all hark on about performance etc but we do keep coming back to this virtual existence and I for one think its brilliant and fun and addictive.

From the people I’ve got to know and observe, it’s not a outlet for socially inept losers but in the main, it attracts incredibly talented and forward thinking people who all have a story.  SL take a bow.

I just can’t say this any plainer. If you do nothing when you log in, TP to Inaya Skins and try on the demo’s. You absolutely must. I was contacted by Sandro Fratica in-world asking if I would be interested in featuring these new skins in my blog. Sandro is co-owner along with skin designer, Naalyeh Raleigh. I visited their store and Sandro kindly handed me a blogger package containing these new skins that had only days ago been released.

People…OMG. I am in love…LOVE I tell you and I want to share it. Only you know if you love a skin when you try it on but please, do yourself a little favor and just see if you love them as much as I do.

In my rush to get this post out, I haven’t had time to show all the line but I will finish them off in a day or two. These will just have to tide you over in the meantime. I always struggle with profiling skins in respect to the pictures. I thought this would be the easiest way to show you the full length and face without overdoing it with individual pictures. These were shot in world with no post work in an attempt to give you a fair representation of the skin. If they look this good raw, imagine how they’ll look with you all tarted up?

Sandro and Naalyeh you have an amazing line of skins on your hands and I simply can’t wait to see it grow and prosper. I just can’t express how I love these skins and will be keeping an eagle eye on all of your upcoming releases.

There are hair bases, freckles, teeth and hair attachments for sale but I recommend you just go there and try them all on.

I love blogging. A couple of days ago Alaska Metropolitan dropped me a folder of her new skins with the brand name of alaskametro and an invitation to her launch party on June 5. Unfortunately I was unable to attend but finally got to try out the skins yesterday. Actually to be factual, the name alaskametro is followed by the ‘greater than’ symbol and a 3 = heart.   Unfortunately when I type this in I get an error so just pretend it’s there.

I am (obviously) not a terribly good skin reviewer, unlike Gogo from JUICYBOMB.COM who does fantastic reviews on skins. In saying that, I know what I like and I like this skin. Utilizing the SL 2.0+ viewer, Alaska has created a very affordable way for us to have amazing options with the one skin. This is taken from Alaska’s note card as she best describes her product:

Begin by choosing a base skin tone from the selection of semi-tintable, seamless skins. From there, up to 4 hair colours are available, with 3 eyebrow options each. A skin pack includes 1 eyebrow option, in 1 hair colour, in 1 base tone, but contains 4 variations: regular, freckled, Brazilian waxed, and freckled with Brazilian waxed.


Makeup packs are available to enhance your alaskametro<3 skin, and are modifiable to allow you to add your own tattoos, nail polish, body glitter, etc. Makeup packs use the SL 2.0 “Tattoos” layer and will NOT work in older Second Life software.

Base skin tones are currently available in 4 semi-tintable shades:
ROSE: warm, beige pinkish-toned light skin
BRONZE: warm, tanned/bronzed medium light skin
SPICE: very warm tanned medium skin

After this shoot I had to be cut out of my shorts. Did you feel the earth move?  As you can clearly see, nothing comes between me and my hot pants.

Yesterday I visited Bliss Couture, the amazing store of designer Amutey DeCuir. It’s a stunning space filled with clothing and accessories from the sublime to the divine. I dropped by to avail myself of a freebie and as usual, couldn’t leave without buying an item. Look at this gorgeous accessory called the Shahtoosh Shawl in the color Ruby. Hangs like a dream girls.

I teamed it with some more new buys namely the sexy Copper Orange Hot Pants from Alb Fashion and the Orange Plaid top from Barcode which also becomes a Baby Doll style top when the prim is attached. I purchased the Orange Skinny Belt some time ago from Elate and have been eager to give it an airing.  I LOVE skinny belts.

I do apologize that I can’t seem to take off my new Maitreya’s but they go with everything so why bother haha. No I just need a few more days living in these gorgeous shoes before I pry them off. I have been known to sleep in new shoes RL to wear them in but that does play havoc with the water bed.

I’ve died and gone to heaven. It was love at first sight and not even a dwindling bank balance could keep me away from a fat pack.

Onyx has done it AGAIN with the new release of Aequus. These newest stars in the Maitreya Gold range are simply stunning and worth every last cent of $7,900L for 15 color options. Stylish is the order of the day and like the Allure range, feature a zip at the heel. Unlike Allure, these are quite simple where the stunning prim foot get’s to shine. With a clever ankle wrap under the straps, the SL foot has NEVER, EVER been as beautiful.

Please excuse my, shall we say, minimalist styling for this post. I just didn’t want to take anything away from my second favorite shoe in SL. My first being Salience also from Maitreya Gold.

Right now the RL me has a pimple the size of Mt Vesuvius on her face and she ain’t happy. Funny how I never had pimple’s in my teens and now, the mother of all of them decides to make an appearance. To squeeze or not to squeeze, that is the question? Perhaps it was that piece of Creme Brulee fudge I had yesterday.

Now Glam Affair has installed a Lucky Chair in their VIP room for member’s of the group. I went there two days ago and found another ‘C’ person in residence near the chair and she looked like she meant business so I decided not to shame her with my lighting fast trigger finger and TP’d home thinking I would take it on another day. Yesterday I returned and it wasn’t long before the chair decided to pay out for me with this outfit called Malaika. I prefer to wear little dresses with pants so added a pair of white leggings from fri.day to spice it up.

I couldn’t wait to show you my new Posh hair called Naive in the color Sunflower. SL resident Naive Fall? Is this named after you??? I do love the bowler hat and pompadour style that allows the face to feature and thought my new Butterfly Magic eye decoration from Glow Studio would be perfect.

These Warhol inspired chairs and table were created and given by Frolic Mills in celebration of his recent rezz day. I do love them Frolic and wanted to give them an airing on my blog because I didn’t realize you could actually make things too. Thank you Fro…I do really love them. I always wanted to sit my ass on James Dean. No-one, not even me however is allowed to put their derriere on MJ. RIP darling man.

I have been reading a few stories and comments lately on the topic of FREEBIES. I’d just like to say that like RL shopping, I usually have to look at a lot of stuff before I find something that I want/like/need. I don’t walk into shops and find everything in there to my taste and/or quality. Hunts and freebies are like that too. Not everything given out will be for you. Designers/creators who graciously give things away for free should not be ripped apart if it’s not up to your standard and likewise, you are not entitled to anything. Having dreads is one of my unfulfilled dreams but I know I will never follow it through. I just can’t go the next step and get them done…I’m a chicken with my hair you see. So living vicariously through Chalice, I found an awesome dread do at Simay Creations complete with funky hair scarf. To me dreads evoke a grounded, earthy feel so I went for a look that was comfortable, casual and cotton perfect for browsing treasures at Les Puces in Paris.

I do rather love this dress called May that I recently picked up as a freebie gift from Flowerdreams Creations (LM below). Lots of color and the skirt part fits really well under the halter top. Again I’m wearing my new Mojoti eye wear, this one is called Rita comprising of lovely tortoiseshell rims in the style of Ray Bans. I teamed this with the Courtisane opening gift bag called Sacoche which I just love and hadn’t worn before.

I do love an eclectic mix of textures, patterns and colors and this combination draws together seemingly unrelated pieces to create a variation on my hippie chic theme.

Hello again. I’m pumped, I’m excited and I’m inspired after finding some great things to blog in the coming weeks. Now in RL I love to do lunch. I love to do breakfast and dinner too. In fact, I love going out and celebrating the joy of sharing food with friends and family more than anything. So today I have found an outfit befitting of social Chalice and her love of dressing up for lunch.

I found this gorgeous lace dress from the Niven Collection, a favorite designer of mine since forever. I love the quality of her work and also the fun she incorporates into some very sophisticated couture pieces. I love this dress and the hint of nip is a naughty touch on what is a seemingly conservative little dress. Note the oversize brooch that comes with the dress…adds some quirk doesn’t it? Now I want you to sit down…this dress is (drum roll) 50L. Another must have from the Niven Collection is the tattoo layer MonoChrome Wing Lashes. There’s lots of options and with no effort, you look like Napolean Perdis has had his way with you.

Now if you take a trip to Niven’s at Liberty you will also find my new favorite shop, Posh, a few doors away. I somehow hadn’t managed to visit Posh and that was entirely my mistake. Their up-do’s are something else and this hair called Envious is so stunning I can’t take it off.

The lovely Drupal Kirax from MOJOTI Luxury Eyewear sent over a gift card to purchase his amazing line of sun glasses and I was entirely bowled over by the designs. I threw on these pair called Speed…just the thing to wear so that I can eye the beautiful people (you) without looking too obvious.

WOW I’ve had a blast this SL weekend. I’ve danced, laughed, explored new places and purchased new things. It was cold at home…a real Autumn day giving us a taste of what we’re in for so I wasn’t up for much in terms of being outdoorsy. I snuggled up, made coconut ‘n’ chocolate bread, cooked a yummy chicken dish and generally the family just chill-axed.

I downloaded the Rainbow Cool Viewer that I’m assured is compatible with LL TOS. I seriously cannot get on with V2. I don’t like the side bar information and I think the movement/camera controls are cumbersome. I seemed to be involuntarily logged off from the Emerald Viewer on a regular basis so thought I would give Rainbow a try. I love it. It has all the things I personally want in one viewer so will stick with this until LL fix the movement/camera controls, remove that annoyingly huge side bar and deliver my notices to the top right of my screen. To me it is like I have all the new features in the old format that I am so familiar with.

Here is an outfit I styled from various sources. I do love the clever shading on the pants I purchased from Relentless Couture. How arty to combine a classic rock theme (the skulls) with a pattern noted for its traditional refinement (damask).

I also loved this double layered T from Faire with a message from Katy Perry…albeit with a twist. I did actually get the one that says I kissed a girl too. I mean who wouldn’t want to kiss girls….we’re FABULOUS.

I am loving tattoo layers. You know what? They negate the need to pose for hours on stands trying to get your prim lashes lined up plus no more caterpillars on yer face when you first land. I was thrilled to receive a tattoo layer from Tattanooga in the form of lashes. I tried it on and couldn’t get to the shop quick enough. The make ups and lashes look great and are so easy it’s insane.

Coming from a models perspective, I remember the limitations of SL when we had to quick change without a handy tab, fit lashes, struggle with body/face lights, try to reduce ugly foot bumps with particular shoes and skins that worked against the lighting before the vast improvements of recent times were afforded us.  These days I do believe it is easier to style and create unique looks because it’s all out there for the taking.  In many ways I’m glad I learned in the quaint old days because I really do appreciate what we have now.

I also visited Posh for the first time and have fallen in love with their hair. There’s something about it that floats my boat. I love how the pulled back hair sits low at the forehead. Anyhow, do take a trip to Posh and try on the demo’s. I’m also wearing my favorite of all favorite shoes, Salience from Maitreya.

Miah McAuley, owner and designer of Tik Tok is making shapes. She sent along Lil, an incredibly sweet Asian inspired shape and as you can see from her vendor poster below, Miah provides a style card if you want to recreate the exact look. I love her picture of Lil and think she has nailed this gorgeous Asian creation.

Lil is selling for 500L modifiable and 300L non-mod. I will be bringing you the other shape called Selena also. Lil is so petite yet curvaceous compared to towering Chalice who in model mode, stands as tall as an avatar can get and is bean pole skinny.

I also wanted to show you this retro styled swimsuit from Meghindo’s Touch Of Sensuality. I had never visited Meghindo Romano’s store before but I was very impressed and had lots of fun browsing the seemingly endless floors of clothes. I really love this little number…the flower and crystal on the shoulder is as cute as can be and the texture is stunning.

The last two shots were also taken in world. Who knew that you could play around with the water settings so much that you could get a stunning effect like this? I’ve done it before but I was thrilled with the gorgeous colors produced on this occasion.

Serious title eh? /me cackles wickedly.

This is the last of my lovely bundle of goodies from my new favorite clothes shop, Lurani. These shoes called Rediaie are a fun little laced bootie with geometric design incorporating black, pastel pink, mint and blue hues. I really love the sculpted shape and break-a-leg high heels. Of course I couldn’t resist giving it the Chalice treatment with some OTT pink socks with lace trim and to bring out my Donna Flora Secret dress for a second airing.

I found this lovely place called Cap Estel and posed by the sea on a picnic rug thoughtfully placed there by the creator. I’m really enjoying finding new places to incorporate in my blog. I like the idea of photographing fashion within SL rather than green screening and then imposing my pic on a background. This way I get to show off all the beauty…both in the clothes, accessories and the talents of sim designers.

When I don’t think anyone reads this blog, sometimes I get lovely messages in-world that make me inspired all over again. TY you.

Ok I promised another Lurani number and here ’tis. It screamed Diva with impossibly tall hair and lips as red as blood.

This doesn’t need many words…the dress speaks volumes.

It is the simple lines of this dress that allows the double feather ruffles to do their thing. The skirt is system so wear your skirt/narrow hip shape and you should be fine. The dress is called Rosette and just begs to be worn in the most dramatic way possible. I’ll be doing another post with the Lurani shoes.

I’m really excited by this label. Lurani is the sista brand to House Of Fox and is founded by Gisele Mubble. She sent me some pieces and I was inspired. When I tp’d to the store, I found some fantastic designs that were colorful, rich in texture and well put together. I spied some gold pants that I don’t think you will have seen before…very fancy smancy.

I am wearing Dare, a three piece set of pants, top and ruffled skirt. Gisele sent me some circus leggings that compliment perfectly. I wanted some color so chose the Knitted Hat and Tory Belt from LeLutka in the color Thistle. I popped on my favorite fur trimmed gloves and Maitreya boots to finish off and we now have something a little quirky and definitely unique. With all this going on I chose a simple Elfin style do from Vanity Hair. Click the pics for a more detailed view.

I took these pics at LeLutka. I spotted an empty display window and clicked inside. I was thinking of standing there to trick everyone into thinking I was a dummy but really, people already know this.

Lurani is my kind of shop and I will definitely be a repeat customer. I will blog the rest of the other pieces soon. I love your designs Gisele.  Congrats on a wonderful product.

Truth Hawks has created a stylish and classy shopping district that now incorporates Truth Fashion. I took a look today and was mightily impressed with the build which I noticed was done by NotSoBad designer/builder, Emilie Freund who just happens to be my favorite creator in SL. I own her Dubai house and living in that building, the attention to details both big and small never ceases to amaze me.

When I shop, I’m always on the lookout for good pants. I tend not to like the kind that accentuates the lack of space from an avatar’s waist to the Tra La La. Anatomically we are deficient in this area and if they don’t sit high enough, I personally think we look weird.  I know other people love the low rise look if the feeds are anything to go by but I don’t think we have enough space there to go too low.

I found these LA Suedes pants in Dusk with leg zips at Truth and am impressed by the texture and shading. The creases are in all the right places and the zips work so well making these an unusual addition to your pants collection.

I nominate this to be Day Of The Jacket because Sascha Frangilli’s Romana jackets in black or silver are so delightfully wonderful, they deserve 24 hours of glory. First of all, they are skillfully constructed with all pieces strategically placed to allow movement without gaps. Secondly, they are REALLY smart and so chock full of exquisite detail they require very little accessorizing to achieve a slick look. You can’t help but notice that Sascha possesses a definite mastery with her textures and shading…I mean just look as the luster of the silver jacket.
