BOSL Fashion Week…Don’t You Dare Miss It

September 2nd, 2010 2:01 am by Chalice Carling

I love Frolic Mills. I don’t have all that much to do with him but I have come to love his special brand of humor and uniqueness that never seems to change. He makes SL so bloody pretty and if anyone knows the importance of feather’s in a diva’s life…it’s Frolic. And me.

BOSL events barely need any publicity from the likes of me but I will personally never forget the absolute fun I had being part of Miss Virtual World a gazillion years ago and have a real soft spot for anything BOSL. Receiving another gem of an invitation, I squealed in delight when I wore this ostentatious ostrich number created by Ms Cherish Demonge. I’ll be damned if I’m not going to stalk this lady begging her to make me one with my name on it. I will never live my life out of it I swear.

Anyway ...

Big hair, oversize necklace, cool shades and double layered platforms all come together to Divarize Chalice.

LeLutka has a great collection of bags and these death defying shoes are called Heeless Double Platform Pumps from House of Fox.

Chalice In Wonderland

It’s been a big week of news and views in SL around the Emerald Viewer and I hope things get sorted out soon. More viewers mean more choice but transparency and safety must be upheld at all times. I seem to be having problems with all the viewers at the moment so am waiting in anxious anticipation for something to come along that just works for me.

If anyone has a spare Prime Minister floating around can they send them down-under to Australia.  We unfortunately can’t find one.

Baiastice New Release – Hair Attachments To Die For.

August 23rd, 2010 8:44 pm by Chalice Carling
Chalice In Wonderland

This post is NOT about the fabulous Pois Satin dress from Baiastice currently available for a song at The Dressing Room Blue. No sir…people have already blogged that. This is about Sissy’s new line of hair attachments recently released. I have just allowed Sissy to travel first class to the Maldives with the L’s I just spent in her store. Well first class by Linden Airways to the next sim maybe. I couldn’t count the number of styles she has produced but each attachment is available with 12 hair shades included for sale at a measly $150L.

I have only presented one style, the Lucrezia, because I want you all to TP to the Baiastice Beauty Department and demo till you drop.

Of course being an attachment, you’ll need a quality hair base or hair tattoo but I’m sure nearly everyone has these. The hair attachment phenomena has become my ...

Dating Me In Elymode.

August 23rd, 2010 1:59 am by Chalice Carling
Chalice In Wonderland

I don’t need a date. I’m wearing Elymode. Actually I don’t need a date because I’m married in RL but you get the picture. Wearing Elymode and looking as gorgeous as this, well Chalice is never lonely.

Chalice In Wonderland

The top and skirt from Elymode are called Pacifica and I’ve chosen to show it in black; however, its also available in green, purple and blue. Ely has been busy with her silk worms again, because the material is lustrous and looks as if it has been spun with silver thread.

Chalice In Wonderland

I accessorized heavily in silver, donning a buxom feather hair needle because when in doubt, wear a feather. Silver scarf, ring, bangle and bag complete the black/silver combo.

Chalice In Wonderland

I was utterly thrilled to be able to wear my LeLutka skin black hair base with the gorgeous hair attachment from Vanity Hair. I personally love the melding of these two items creating a ...

It’s A Beautiful Day…Don’t Let It Slip Away.

August 22nd, 2010 1:31 pm by Chalice Carling

I must be the luckiest girl in the world. Every time I visit new web site’s, I’m ALWAYS the 1,000,000th visitor.

I just wanted to show you my new chair. I first saw it in The Dressing Room Blue and had to have it. Upon inspection, I headed to Yasuki Beck’s LP2 interior to snap it up. Amazing furniture and ultra low prim which amazes me because it all looks as if it would be prim heavy. I love this chair and matching rug called ‘Old Stripe’.

I also TP’d to Fancy Scrabblebat’s new store, ::Shopaholic’s Anonymous:: situated at Malt. You can read Fancy’s wonderful blog, So Called Second Life here. Fancy has a pose pack for sale at 50L’s and is hard at work making more. Unreal poses folks so keep Shopaholic’s Anonymous in mind for your pose needs. The Starbucks coffee, newspaper and glasses on ...

Ely And Tuli Make Beautiful Music Together.

August 10th, 2010 3:41 am by Chalice Carling
Chalice in Wonderland Blog

What happens when a volcano meets a tornado? Sorry Eminem for borrowing your lyric but that’s how I describe the creative partnership of two of SL’s artistic dynamo’s. You get a force to be reckoned with, that’s what. Elysium Eilde from Elymode and Tuli Asturias from Tuli Skins have come together to form a fantastic skin fusion centered around Tuli’s new release Jade skin.

How utterly exciting to view the fruits of their respective labor in the form of the new Jade make up range specifically designed to be worn with the Jade skin. Ely has gone to town in designing these stunning make ups that are going to change the way we style our personal outfits and for models who appear on runway and in fashion shoots. They are just so vibrant and luminous.

Chalice On A Hot Tin Roof.

August 8th, 2010 5:55 pm by Chalice Carling

Chalice In Wonderland Blog

One of the most enjoyable things about Chalice’s extensive, obscene fashion collection is the freedom to plonk in front of the wardrobe (inventory) trying to create a look brought together from many different designers. The hardest thing about Chalice’s extensive, obscene fashion collection is knowing where to look. A skirt from here, a ruffle from there, a hat from god knows where all come together to create an outfit no-one else will be wearing. I love that.

Today I started with the earrings/necklace set I purchased the other day. Facing my clown-a-phobia, I snapped this up because clowns scare the bejeebers out of me and I thought exposure therapy might help. The outfit grew from there and I must say, you could pair this Stitch By Stitch skirt with a hessian sack and you’d still rock the runway.

Grease Lightning Wearing Eclectica.

August 8th, 2010 1:55 am by Chalice Carling

Chalice in Wonderland Blog

I’ve made up my own show called ‘My Bathroom’s Got Talent’. I’m the star and for my debut I performed Grease Lightning wearing my new favorite jewelery, Eclectica. As promised, I’m presenting another fabulous set called Nouveau Rose in lilac. This set consists of earrings, necklace, ring and bracelet all for only 300L.

Chalice in Wonderland Blog

Chalice in Wonderland Blog

As you can see, a lot of work has gone into the creation of Nouveau and like Tiffy’s other pieces, the details reveal themselves the more you look at it.

The top I am wearing is called Antique Tunic in pink, a recent find from my shopping trip to Albero: Girls Select Shopping Mall. I found this great little store there called oyakin. Go have a look…lots of lovely stuff.

Until next time remember, if you can’t say anything nice, come sit by me.

Eclectica Jewelery – As Distinctive As You.

August 7th, 2010 3:38 am by Chalice Carling

Chalice In Wonderland Blog

I am truly excited to present this next creator and am totally shocked that I hadn’t had the pleasure of discovering her wonderful jewelery before now. Ms Tiffy Vella is the force behind Eclectica, an amazing jewelery retailer in SL. How I didn’t know about Eclectica is beyond me because if I had laid eyes on these pieces before, I would have sung it from the roof tops. Tiffy contacted me and asked if I would be interested in presenting a selection of items on my blog. I quickly viewed her profile and in picks under her store, spied a picture of her jewelery and was immediately smitten. I was thrilled when Tiffy sent me a review folder of two of her designs.

Shown here is the Vintage Rose set in lumière consisting of 2 types of earrings (long and short), necklace and ring. This is a new release ...

I’m Such A Poser.

August 4th, 2010 2:07 am by Chalice Carling

I want to share a little secret with you that was actually shared with me by the adorable Barbarella Fuosing one day.  Thank you hun.  I wanted a really easy pose hud that I could wear and be able to fill with hundreds of my model poses to use anywhere in SL.  She told me about Kru Flan’s Anim Preview Hud available at Kru’s Boutique for only 1L.  This hud is so simple and convenient, I just can’t get by without it now.  The hud holds no more than 100 poses but because it’s copy, you can make a load of them depending on how many poses you have.  You drop the hud to the ground and just drop them in (no more than 100 though).  Wear it and a little box comes up on the screen that actually names each pose.  You just press play and then click forward ...

It’s A Sign.

August 1st, 2010 2:02 am by Chalice Carling

You all probably know about the Albero Summer Gatcha Festival running from 7th July to 11th August. If you don’t, you do now.

I had a lot of fun Gatcha’ing and shopping. The gambler in me came out and I found myself clicking like crazy to get the items I wanted.

Some of the many, many items I picked up were:

  • signs (Duck Soup
  • backyard tent with rug and cushions (arcade)
  • nerd flash racerback tank top (Sea Hole)
  • coffee cup (created by Cleom Bailey)
  • hair piece (miel)

I think those signs are going to come in so handy for when I feel like a full-on protest about something. At uni, I became so carried away and militant at a protest rally re: student fees that I think I incited a near riot. When the press came (read local paper), just as they ...

Impossible Cross Earrings from BEHOLD Designs. EnCore Made Them Possible.

July 31st, 2010 7:46 pm by Chalice Carling

One of my 12 special women I chose to send the ’12 Women’ note card to that is currently doing the rounds, EnCore Mayne has been designing things in SL for quite some time. From pogo sticks to jewelery and everything in between, I am constantly amazed at her knowledge and love her uniqueness. She displays her creations at BEHOLD Designs in Choerom or purchase from Xstreetsl.

EnCore sent me these unreal earrings called Impossible Cross. I was thrilled and the second I put them on and cammed in, I knew these were something very, very special. Delicate, simple and restrained, I could see immediately how technically skilled the design of these earrings is. I have a feeling, like in many of her pieces, some blood, sweat and tears may have been spilled in bringing them to fruition. I’m waiting for the right outfit to showcase one of her ...

I took myself off to Kyoot Army because I noticed in the feeds they were selling furniture/home ware pieces and went for a sticky. I saw this across the room and went, ‘that’s mine’…click. Ask me why I love it and I all I can tell you is it’s my kind of dress. It’s unexpected. It doesn’t conform. It tells me a story. The woman who wears this dress is smart, tailored yet is so self assured she mixes colors and styles without a thought of playing it safe.  The dress is called New Money but I like to think Chalice is old money.  One who doesn’t need to impress with the latest trends…one who makes the trends as they go along.  Ok ...

I am her human mother and she is my canine baby…we love each other beyond words and this is what drives me to put her first. To do the right thing when its required and to hold her in my arms at home when it comes time to call the vet and send her to doggie Heaven wrapped in my love.

That said, I wanted to put together some Niven magic centered around the Niven Wing Lash and Geisha Lip tattoo layer. Tik Tok Stella Skin…Recently Released.

July 26th, 2010 3:45 am by Chalice Carling

I have so enjoyed the evolution of Miah McAuley’s skin label, Tik Tok. Her recent release of her new line called Stella is a triumph in my opinion. Miah dropped these on me a little while ago and to be honest, I was struggling for time to get everything I had planned to blog on the blog. Tonight I had a few moments and tried on Stella. I’m so glad I did because I really do love this skin. Available in Light, Medium, Suntan and Dark, I chose to show the Light tone. The make up names are called Cat, Jade, Lady, Nude and Silver as shown below.

They are classy, elegant make ups with soft eyeshadow and glossy lips. I’ve shown the skins using the cleavage option. I also really like the brow shape on these.

    Wonder by Kalnins.

A big thank you to Maris Kanto, designer of Kalnins shoes and shades. Once again, Mr Kanto has shared his new release shoe with blogger’s and this is one right out the shoe box. Appropriately called Wonder, I have entirely fallen in love with this smart strappy heel with excellent shading and delightful tootsies. What I adore about Kalnins’ prim toed shoes is the easy to operate hud. I consider myself the perfect gauge for huds, because I am so challenged, if I can use it, anyone can.

I would just love this shoe in RL. Its stylish and really does look comfortable.

Hello darlings.  After a mare of a working week, it’s finally Friday night and I  wanted to blog my other Chantkare dress that I purchased on sale, my new Vanity Hair piece that was made to wear with the stunning Lionskins Nova line.

Applonia Criss from Chantkare does amazing stuff and I love this Paradiso dress in lovely shades of purple, pink and red for a mere $175L’s. Proving that a little ingenuity can reap rewards, I used a set of bracelets I purchased from Vain that were modifiable and textured the bands I didn’t want to transparent leaving this purple section on show. I love the match.  The hair piece I’m wearing is Venice from Vanity Hair, a stunning keratin flower with a whispy long piece draping down to the shoulder.  Of course my Lionskin Nova make up in blonde provides the perfect hair base that ties it all ...

    Saying Goodbye Is Hard.

July 22nd, 2010 2:10 am by Chalice Carling
I don’t want any of you to leave.

Is anyone else feeling a shift in SL lately? I’ve been in world since the latter part of 2007 and I’ve never felt this way about it before. I don’t know what it is exactly and can’t really verbalize it but it seems like every other day someone or something is leaving SL. I was so shocked to hear that Digit Darkes is the latest to turn off the lights and I just feel quite sad that wonderful label is no more. There’s definitely change in the air and I don’t like it. I want all those familiar people and brands to stay just as they are.

On the other hand though, there’s anew generation of designers and creators coming in to keep the torch burning. I hope they can manage to keep it fresh and that this isn’t the beginning of ...

SOON TO BE RELEASED – Michelle Skin from Mayden Couture

July 20th, 2010 2:41 am by Chalice Carling

I love to get the drum on new releases and last night I got just that. Ms Maika Koray, the designer behind Mayden Couture, sent me a review copy of the about to be released Michelle Skin. In the folder were two skin tones, one dark and one lighter. Unfortunately I haven’t been able to contact Maika to confirm the names of the two tone’s; however, I opted to show the lighter skin. I also don’t have a date of release for this skin but if I can catch up with Maika I’ll pass it on.

As I always do when I review something, I visited Mayden Couture to get a feel for the product and to cast my eye over the existing skin range. Mayden Couture was an impressive enterprise. The skins are beautifully presented in vendor posters and the clothing, shoe, eye, nail, hair range available ensures ...

    Lionskins Make Chalice Roar.

July 18th, 2010 7:05 pm by Chalice Carling

Lion Jonesford, skin designer and CEO of Lionskins has been transforming us into creatures of beauty for some time now and her recent skin line, Nova, is a testament to her immense and indisputable talents. You can’t go past Lionskins for print and runway work because of the vivid, artistic make ups that come in a plethora of options to satisfy the most imaginative stylist. What is even more wonderful is the pairing of Tabata Jewell from Vanity Hair and Lionskins to create a skin/hair fusion so amazing that I ran right out of my NCore Cherie Passion Heels in my hurry to get it all on. Tabata has put together a selection of hair pieces made specifically for Lion’s Nova range. What a thrill and advancement this is in hair/skin offerings and the moment I cammed back to view my outfit, I just smiled with a sense of satisfaction. ...

    LeeZu’s Runway Runaway.

July 17th, 2010 8:47 pm by Chalice Carling

Mirror, mirror on the wall. Am I the most beautiful wearing LeeZu of all?? Well you can’t help but be beautiful in her fabulous frocks.

I wanted to present this dress called Moonlight on the runway because that sprung to mind the minute I tried it on. Maitreya’s Salience Heels were the only one’s I thought of to pair with this dress….I love the fusion of these two designers in this ensemble.

Click the pics for an eye full.

I went shopping at Stylissimo at GOL and found a gorgeous looking shop with fabulous displays. Of course I wanted everything but I fell in love with this outfit called “Long Fly Home”. Living in Australia, almost wherever I go it’s a long, long flight home and I wouldn’t mind wearing this on the plane. Until of course I slip into my first class sleeper suit.

Being partial to tartan, kilts and men in kilts, this is my preferred look if I were being interviewed for ‘Country Life Magazine’ showing them around my big castle. Unfortunately I didn’t get any further than the BonBon sim. A lovely little spot for snaps…soft light, great textures and buildings designed by one of my favorites, Yacchan Clip. I’m Not Dead I’m Just Sad And Needed To Chill

July 12th, 2010 11:59 pm by Chalice Carling

I’m not one for divulging much about RL in SL because in a way, I consider this my sanctuary from my day-to-day existence. A wonderful existence I might add but one that is crazy busy and sometimes too hectic even for me. I haven’t posted in a few days and thought I’d just check in to say that I’ve just taken a bit of time to digest my sad news…sad to me anyway. My doggie’s got cancer and only has between two to six months before it takes her. To be honest, she really isn’t my doggie, she’s my baby, my best friend, my joy. Unfortunately it has progressed to the stage that it is essentially untreatable and while every part of me wants to try everything, my love for her is too great to let her suffer unnecessarily. I’ve chosen to give her quality of life rather than quantity. ...

I took one look at the picture she sent and jumped at the chance. From that photo, the quality and Mea’s obvious talent just oozed out at me and I wondered once again why I hadn’t visited Aimesi before. Burberry By The Beach

June 29th, 2010 4:03 am by Chalice Carling

I love a bit of Burberry. In fact, I love anything with berry in it. Here I am in my kitchen about to cook some coffee. So what if my culinary skills stretch to coffee and toast. At least I dress like I mean business.

I really like this combo taken from a little bit of this and that.

See those pots down there? I take great pride in the fact that they’ve never been used and are still as shiny as the day I brought them. Those cook books in the background from Dutchie are there for show too. I only ever read fashion mags.

ZombiePopcorn SL Carnival – There’s Nothing More Scary Than A Clown

June 23rd, 2010 1:43 am by Chalice Carling

One of my favorite sims used to be Carnival Of Doom. It seriously scared the crap out of me which I know is really stupid but it did have an atmosphere of doom n dread. Taking a visit to the ZombiePopcorn SL Carnival, it was reminiscent of that sim and the mystery that seems to surround carny folk. I have always had a bit of an aversion to carnivals and circuses…something about the transient nature of them. A world created full of lights, sounds and smells one minute, and like a phantom, gone the next leaving a wake of litter in its place.

I walked the shops, rode the dodgem cars, navigated the fun house and it was a hoot. So if you want to see a great sim and enjoy all the fun of the fair, take this TP to the ZombiPopcorn SL Carnival. But beware…the man murdering circus ...

Summer Loving At Casa Del Shai

June 22nd, 2010 3:36 am by Chalice Carling

The lovely Shai Delacroix, fashion designer extraordinaire of Casa Del Shai fame, sent me her new Summer 2010 release of this gorgeous dress called La Eleganza. Shai has been making hand-painted and sculpted clothing in SL since 2006 and at the Fashion Blogger’s Choice Awards of 2007 was voted ‘Best of’ in many categories. One can only imagine that what Shai doesn’t know about SL clothing construction is hardly worth mentioning.

La Eleganza is as the name implies. Elegant, stylish and classic, the dress is timeless in its appeal. A perfect and versatile dress for any occasion.  I imagine it going along on your summer vacation and seeing lots of action.

Case Del Shai is full of amazing fashion and I urge you to take a trip there and engorge yourself on all that fabulousness.

I just had to get into my new Inaya skins again. This one is Maori ...

I’m In An *elymode* State Of Mind

June 21st, 2010 12:30 am by Chalice Carling

What can I say about Elysium Eilde? She’s one of the people who have made SL more beautiful in lots of different ways. Her penguin promoter walking around Second Look Studio, her photography studio, once had a label on his head saying “Ely is a genius”. Guess what?  He was absolutely right. She has taken some of the best photographs in SL, produced some of the most inspired fashion shows among other things and is now a fashion designer of note. Her designs are of the utmost quality and her artistic skills are blatantly obvious when you take a close look at her pieces.

Ely, aka as *elymode*, sent me a blogger pack of these two dresses called Danaini in both Lilac and Gold. Feast your eyes on the amazing color and textures of these dresses. Beautiful Ely, just stunning.

I probably should have shown these in a summer, ...

    Catch Up With Chalice

June 20th, 2010 1:00 am by Chalice Carling

    Coooooeeeeeee.

Well my little darlings I’m back. What you say? Didn’t know you’d gone? Don’t be so cheeky.

My short hiatus commenced as above. Sitting in my living room recently, that whiny annoying, pain in the ass inner voice of mine said, ‘You need a change of living space’. ‘Oh God not again’ screamed my logical voice of reason.  While I love, adore, idolize my NotSoBad Dubai house I knew resistance was futile. I took off trawling the grid for a new home. I am the Imelda Marcos of Pre-Fabs and I’ll do it again, mark my words. This post is an eclectic collection of drivel so don’t scowl, scroll, if you don’t want to read.

I’ve been everywhere man. I have scoured the length and breadth of SL and poured over the Lifestyle Blogs to see what floated my boat. I do this every time I create a new ...

Please Let Me Raise My Pants

June 13th, 2010 4:33 am by Chalice Carling

Chalice is as tall as can be and often struggles with non-modify pants.

I found three examples in my inventory to support my dilemma when it comes to skirts and sometimes dresses. I assume its because I am so tall that with non-mod pants that I can’t make shorter, the skirt/dress prims aren’t long enough to cover the pants. In most instances, I can’t lower the skirt enough to rectify the problem. I’m sure others are in the same boat so can I ask designers to consider making glitch pants modifiable so that your gorgeous outfits look their best and don’t have pants hanging below the hems? I have quite a few outfits I just can’t wear because of this which is a shame.

Look At Me, Look At Me, Look At Me.

June 12th, 2010 12:01 am by Chalice Carling

The dress is Niven called Kashmir Konnection and a real fav of mine. I think Scarlett Niven’s extreme talent must have sent her mad because she’s selling this dress for the meager sum of $10L. I mean that is insane but thank you Scarlett…I love this profusion of color and texture. Look at the quirky brooch that hangs over the chest…it’s gorgeous.

I am wearing my new favorite skin from Inaya called Kimshara. It has a dark hair base just perfect to attach Inaya’s Maya hair piece that hangs over one eye…it’s edgy I think.

These pictures are taken at a cool sim called Viceland. Not that you can see from these pics, but its awesome for photo taking so take a trip there and let your imagination run free.

Take care everyone. It’s a long weekend in Australia for the Queen’s Birthday. Poor people from the U.K. ...

Inaya Skins….You Simply MUST Try Them

June 11th, 2010 12:17 am by Chalice Carling

I just can’t say this any plainer. If you do nothing when you log in, TP to Inaya Skins and try on the demo’s. You absolutely must. I was contacted by Sandro Fratica in-world asking if I would be interested in featuring these new skins in my blog. Sandro is co-owner along with skin designer, Naalyeh Raleigh. I visited their store and Sandro kindly handed me a blogger package containing these new skins that had only days ago been released.

People…OMG. I am in love…LOVE I tell you and I want to share it. Only you know if you love a skin when you try it on but please, do yourself a little favor and just see if you love them as much as I do.

In my rush to get this post out, I haven’t had time to show all the line but I will finish them off in ...
