1. These shoes from :SEY. You can buy a number of different colours and theres a HUD included which enables you to change the colour of the foot and nails to match the colour of the skin you’re wearing. It’s a bit of a fiddle but I think I got something pretty close. Eventually. And you can choose between the shoe with an invisi-prim or the version that uses an alpha layer on the foot if your using Viewer 2.0.

2. New mens hair from Truth. Possibly my favourite mens release from there and I’ve seen it everywhere since it went on sale. But still worth getting.

3. New poses from oOo Studio. Attention to detail and natural positioning of the avatar are always good things in my book.

By now, everyone should know that there’s a sale at Armidi. By now, everyone has probably been. And normally I wouldn’t post something using only clothes from that one store. I’m not sure whats up with me at the moment but the weekend comes around and all I want to do is sleep. I got up after 9 this morning and still had two naps during the day. Perhaps I’m sickening for something. Perhaps I’m just getting old. Or perhaps I’m just a lazy shit.

Whichever it is, I still found time to log on today and pick up a couple of things including this cool new hat from {theosophy}. Three colours are available, it’s resizable and the band is texture change. Love it.

I also wandered over to Aoharu and picked up one of their new shirts. There’s black and white versions as well as a plaid one in a few different colours. They’ve also released some vests and denim shorts which you can check out on their blog or over at the store.

Just to get things straight from the start  – I’m not the kind of guy who normally wears leather chaps and a codpiece.

However, I was lucky enough to be given a look at a new set from RFyre which includes these things and as I admire the work and texturing that goes into their releases I had to try them on. And so I set myself a challenge to incorporate them into an outfit and came up with this. Which oddly didn’t prove too difficult as I already had prosthetic arms and a goblin king mask in my inventory. Sometimes I amaze myself at the stuff that I have lurking in there….

So, the blog holiday is over and (ir)regular guy is back. I would have sent you all a postcard and got you some duty-free but, well, I forgot.

I got distracted by these boots, you see. A number of different colours are available and the laces and insides are colour change. They also resize when you click on them. They automatically attach to the lower leg with an invisi-prim on the foot but as I wanted to wear pants with cuffs I had to reattached them to the foot. Easily done but worth making a copy of them before you do that so that you have a version for each attachment point.

And I love this hat and cuff I picked up from The Good Life. I stole it from a post at SLook Book but it was a bit of a purchase of faith as there didn’t seem to be a demo available. And we all prefer demos. Right? However, there are rezzed versions to look at in the store and it was no trouble to fit so all’s well that ends well.

3. Leave the boots on him that he always wears because he’s an alt and you refuse to spend any more money on him.

I find I’m writing less and less when I’m blogging these days. I could say that it’s because I can let the pictures do the talking. After all, the old cliché is that a picture is worth a thousand words and as my words tend to be a load of rambling codswallop they aren’t really necessary.

I could also say that I really don’t have a lot to say. As this blog is about pixel clothes and not about me and after I’ve been doing this for so long I find myself hitting a wall when it comes to write ups. Theres only so many times you can say ‘this is great’ and ‘check out this store’ before I want to poke myself in the eye for my lack of originality. So it stands to reason that if I show something here it’s because I like it and there’s other great stuff in the store you should check out.

I could also say that I’m just being a bit lazy at the moment. And this reason is the one that’s nearest to the truth. After pulling together an outfit, taking pictures, editing them, typing out the names of the items and adding the SLurls to the stores it’s all to easy to leave it at that and hit ‘publish’. And I’m far too fond of going for the easy option.

So, sometimes I’ll write stuff. Sometimes I won’t. Sometimes I might just post pictures of chickens doing the can-can. Or maybe not.

If you happen to be a woman or happen to know a woman then you’ll know that there’s a sale at fri.dy at the moment. And the women will know because fri.day is a store that sells women’s clothing.

When any big store has a sale it can be a nightmare. It’ll take forever to tp in, the lag will be horrendous and there will always be someone who feels the need to stand in the middle of the store and shout at everyone to take their AO’s off. There will also be lots of grayed out people who can’t move wearing balls on their heads where there used to be hair and a couple of people will ALWAYS complain in open chat that they can’t move despite everyone else is having the same problem.

Now despite fri.day being a womans store (did I mention that?) I refuse to let a little fact like that stop me from picking up a bargain or two. Sure, all the tops have shading for those who happen to have boobs, but wear it under a waistcoat or sweater and no-one will ever know. The jeans are perfectly man-friendly too. And if you don’t trust me you can always pick up a free demo or two and try them out for yourself.

It’s a Bank Holiday and I had no intention of blogging today. A long lie in was intended. A lot a lazing around and listening to music was intended. But I woke up earlier that I wanted to and so decided to log on to SL and do something fun. And that fun something was to dig out my boy alt and give him a bit of a makeover. It was never intended to become a blog post, but I liked the results so I took a few pics and decided to share them.

The trousers are from Ce Cubic Effect and to my surprise took very little editing to get them to fit. A number of colours are available and Galliano Boucher modified them into a cool pair of shorts which you can see here.

The tattoo is a previous group gift from Connors which no longer seems to be available. However, there are some in a similar style to buy as well as a couple of other tattoo group gifts dotted around the store.

Dears Gods of SL Fashion,

Its been almost a week since my last confession. Or should that be blog post? Either way it’s been longer than I usually go without posting and when you start gettings IM’s in world telling you to update because the sender has nothing to wear then you have to do something about it (btw, if that was you – apologies for not catching your name. SL crashed before I could make a note of it but you made me laugh).

So, I picked up this jacket from Amerie and teamed it with a few things loitering inside my inventory. For some reason, the bottom of the jacket is a tone darker than the rest of it. It resizes with a script and is no-mod so I couldn’t tint it back to white like I normally would. Theres a few other colours available in store in plain and checked designs.

Dear Monday,

I’m sure you’re a very nice Day of the Week. I’m sure all the other Days of the Week invite you around for dinner parties and buy you nice presents on your birthday. But I happen to not like you very much.

It’s nothing personal. It’s just that youre the first day of the working week. The day that ends the weekend and the day that makes me have to get up at stupid-o’clock to go and do stuff that I don’t want to do.

But when I get home I do occasionally get to do stuff I do like, like blogging. I get to log in Second Life and take pictures of this shirt from Aoharu with its colour change tie and this cool cardigan from !Ohmai (can cardigans be cool? I think so….) And I get to wear my new loafers from House Of Curios which didn’t cost me much and are colour change. And if I’d been in the group I could have have changed them to even more colours. But I’m not. So I couldn’t.

So. Monday. I guess youre not that bad really. I still won’t be inviting you to any dinner parties though…..

My inventory is full of crap. Its my second Rezz Day in July and I’ve NEVER cleaned it out. I’ve added much good stuff to the crap in that time but I’m a hoarder and never throw anything away. Just in case it comes in useful.

And today I needed a guitar because I thought it would go well with this outfit. I have a vague recollection of finding a free one in my newbie days and standing in a field strumming it. However one quick search of the inventory from hell and I found this one which we ALL have. Its part of the Musician Guy default avatar and so if you ever find yourself in desperate need of a guitar you can be safe in the knowledge that you have one to hand.

The shirt is a new release from Zaara. I’m sure I have at least one of every item of the mens collection from there and I think everyone needs a bit of Zaara in their inventory. Wonderfully textured as usual and I’m hoping that a range of waistcoats might eventually make their way into the collection. Well, you never know unless you put the thought out there….

The boots are from Duh! and are only L$20. The range down there is expanding all the time, the price is still ridiculously cheap and I defy you to not find something you’ll love.

I’ve not been sleeping well lately and last night was especially bad as I had a few things on my mind so I when I was finally able to drag my butt out of bed I logged on ,had a bit of a wander and pulled this look together.

I’d not been down to Signature Skin Labs for a while and found this skin which hadnt been available last time I was there. Loved the face and so got it. Theres various other tones and facial hair options to choose from.

Now, while I was walking through another store I experienced something I never thought I would in Second Life and that was for some idiot to make racist comments towards me based on the colour of my avatars skin. I should have gotten the avatars name and reported them but I was too stunned to think straight and they tp’d out before I could hunt them down.

Second Life is a diverse community. Regardless of your gender, race or sexuality its a place where you should be welcomed with open arms for being the person you are. People who use hate against others to validate their own existence are a total waste of a sperm and egg.

Anyway. The boots. Look at them. Very nice, aren’t they? Not cheap and they took a fair bit of adjusting but worth it I think.

I look like I smell.

No disrespect to any of the content creators whose stuff I’m wearing (all of which is great) but I think I’ve put too many distressed looking things together and now I think I look like a need a good bath. At least my hair is clean and shiny (which is free at Uw.St at the moment).

I often wear the Taped Fingers from SiniStyle and they’ve now released a version where the tape covers the hand and wrist and I just HAD to grab some when I found them. Theres loads of versions in the pack which also includes ones with and without nail polish.

1) Bank Holiday Weekends – which means an extra day off work. I just can’t seem to get enough sleep at the moment so an extra day to catch up is appreciated.

2) Food that isn’t good for me but it always tastes so damn good. I like it, but I’m trying not to eat it. My waistline will thank me. Eventually.

3) Hair that I can plonk on my head and not have to adjust too much. Like this one from *booN.

4) These new boots from Sensual Mistery. Big and chunky with nice details and they resize with a script.

5) Jeans from Nardcotix which have been my ‘go-to’ jeans for a while now. Pants and underpants layers, modifiable, two types of cuff and available in a number of colours. Would love them to be available in a ripped version too.

Plurk seems to have a bit of a reputation at the minute. Mainly because of the amount of drama and slanging matches that occur there. But there’s many people who use it who keep away from all that crap. Who use it to talk to friends away from Second Life. To share their ups and downs, the things they’ve made, done and found.

And it was because of Plurk that I wandered down to no.07 and picked up this skin which I had to get after checking out the demos. A number of facial hair options and skin tones are available, including a couple of freckled/red haired options, which is good to see. The skin has a slight seam down the side of the torso and at the base of the back which you may want to check out on the demos before you purchase. However, it wasnt severe enough to stop me buying one.

The jeans are from **Stash** and available for free as part of the Make Him Over Hunt which runs until 30th April. Conners are also participating in the hunt, so while your over there make sure you join the group and pick up this tattoo which is out as a group gift at the front of the store.

NOTE: An updated version of the skin has just been released which does not have the seam issues I mentioned above.

I love my hats. I’ve been accused of perverted indiscrepancies involving the misuse of my headwear. But its all lies. I like them because they’re easier to fit than hair and all the best ones are colour/texture change so you can wear them with loads of different stuff.

This cap from Ninikoboy is one of my new favourites. Love the shape, its colour changeable and easy to fit.

And if you havent got these glasses yet then please book an appointment with your doctor as soon as possible and go and get your head checked. I’ve blogged them a couple of times before, theyre from Solar Eyewear and still out as a freebie at the link below. You can change the colour, texture, opacity, position, etc using the included HUD. Just get the damn things if you havent already. You’ll thank me.

I always like it when I head out to look for something I’ve seen on a blog and end up finding a totally different store and buying something I wasnt looking for.

This scarf is a case in point. I found it at The Dogs and was more than pleased that it was only L$1. Theres also a brown version available for the same price.

The hat and hair is from Cheerno. The hat itself is grey, but as its modifiable, I edited the linked parts and colour tinted the hat parts to match the rest of the outfit.

I’m also wearing a wallet chain which I have to apologise for wearing. You see, I can’t find the store it’s from. Its been in my inventory for a while now but there no landmark in the folder. I looked up the creator, but couldn’t find it in their current store. So I shouldnt really have used it, but I’d already taken the pictures and life’s to short to redo them. However, I’ve sure there’s other places that do similar things if its something your virtual life cannot do without….

There are certain things which we need. Like oxygen. Water. And maybe pizza.

Shoes shouldnt really make it into that list but I saw an advert for these new shoes from NSD and I needed them. So I got them. They come with a HUD which enables you to change the colour of each section to one of your choosing as well as add glow and shine. I was quite partial to the basic white that they are when you first wear them, but after a bit of fiddling with HUD (which took me a while as I didnt read the included instructions at first) I added a bit of colour.
