It’s that time of year again. The time of year when one of the things I look forward to comes around and that is my festival. Well, it’s not mine but I go every year and so I’m claiming ownership. The months of boring friends and colleagues with rumors of who might be playing and then boring them further with endless chatter about who is actually playing will be over. I’ve had months to prepare and am I ready. Am I hell. Not done a thing. But I have a couple of days to get some laundry done and pack.
So, as I’m going to a festival I thought my avatar would go to one too. Hence this outfit. I’m expecting the usual urine infused mud so Wellington boots are a must. And a hat, just in case the sun decides to make an appearance. It’s unlikely though…..

It’s well after 1am and I should really be in bed by now. But I started pulling this blog post together and once I’d started I thought I may as well finish. You see, my SL tends to be full of half finished stuff. I’ll have an idea, start doing whatever it is then have another idea half way through which interests me more so I’ll go off and do that instead. I do try to finish stuff off. It just doesn’t always happen.

Sometimes I forget something. Sometimes I forget that an outfit doesn’t have to be complicated. Sometimes I forget that I don’t have to use every clothing layer that’s available. And sometimes I remember that’s it’s more than OK to just throw on a sweatshirt and jeans and be more than happy wearing that.
So, today that’s just what I did. I’ve been meaning to blog this sweatshirt for ages but was stuck with what to do with it. But I realised I didn’t have to do anything with it. It’s a sweatshirt. Its well made. Theres tons of colours. Its only L$75. I recommend getting a couple.

I like it when you find stuff in the least expected places. I once found a sock stuck to the velcro on my bag as I was walking to work one day. And yesterday I was looking around a furniture shop in SL when I found these boots. They also come in black and a paint spattered version and three different sizes come in the pack. They’re no mod so try out the demo to see if you can get them to fit before you buy – I had to wear the smallest foot part with the biggest leg attachment.

So, Zoobong have just released an upgraded version of their Ocean Skin. And what do you do if you’re wearing a skin called Ocean? Well, in my tiny, twisted little mind you pull on a wetsuit and go surfing. Kind of an obvious link to make, but at least I didn’t cover myself in seaweed and wear a fish for a hat.
Anyway, the skin is currently available in two skin tones with blonde and brown hair bases included.

1. These shoes from :SEY. You can buy a number of different colours and theres a HUD included which enables you to change the colour of the foot and nails to match the colour of the skin you’re wearing. It’s a bit of a fiddle but I think I got something pretty close. Eventually. And you can choose between the shoe with an invisi-prim or the version that uses an alpha layer on the foot if your using Viewer 2.0.
2. New mens hair from Truth. Possibly my favourite mens release from there and I’ve seen it everywhere since it went on sale. But still worth getting.

Just to get things straight from the start – I’m not the kind of guy who normally wears leather chaps and a codpiece.
However, I was lucky enough to be given a look at a new set from RFyre which includes these things and as I admire the work and texturing that goes into their releases I had to try them on. I got distracted by these boots, you see. A number of different colours are available and the laces and insides are colour change. They also resize when you click on them. They automatically attach to the lower leg with an invisi-prim on the foot but as I wanted to wear pants with cuffs I had to reattached them to the foot. Easily done but worth making a copy of them before you do that so that you have a version for each attachment point.

When any big store has a sale it can be a nightmare. It’ll take forever to tp in, the lag will be horrendous and there will always be someone who feels the need to stand in the middle of the store and shout at everyone to take their AO’s off. LaVie have just released Liam V2 and Noah V2. Out of the two, I think I prefer Liam – possibly because it reminds me of Mark which I’ve been wearing for a while. A number of facial hair options are available and you get body hair, hairbase and eyeliner options in the pack. Dears Gods of SL Fashion,
Its been almost a week since my last confession. Or should that be blog post? Either way it’s been longer than I usually go without posting and when you start gettings IM’s in world telling you to update because the sender has nothing to wear then you have to do something about it (btw, if that was you – apologies for not catching your name. SL crashed before I could make a note of it but you made me laugh).
So, I picked up this jacket from Amerie and teamed it with a few things loitering inside my inventory. For some reason, the bottom of the jacket is a tone darker than the rest of it. I’m sure you’re a very nice Day of the Week. I’m sure all the other Days of the Week invite you around for dinner parties and buy you nice presents on your birthday. But I happen to not like you very much.
It’s nothing personal. It’s just that youre the first day of the working week. The day that ends the weekend and the day that makes me have to get up at stupid-o’clock to go and do stuff that I don’t want to do.
But when I get home I do occasionally get to do stuff I do like, like blogging. My inventory is full of crap. Its my second Rezz Day in July and I’ve NEVER cleaned it out. I’ve added much good stuff to the crap in that time but I’m a hoarder and never throw anything away. Just in case it comes in useful.
And today I needed a guitar because I thought it would go well with this outfit. I have a vague recollection of finding a free one in my newbie days and standing in a field strumming it. However one quick search of the inventory from hell and I found this one which we ALL have. Its part of the Musician Guy default avatar and so if you ever find yourself in desperate need of a guitar you can be safe in the knowledge that you have one to hand.
