|Simone Reverie| The Asuka Martin review|

July 14th, 2010 6:24 pm by AnniePaster

I had the opportunity to meet with hair designer, Asuka Martin, who was once a member of second Life’s teen grid. This encounter has broadened my understanding of fashion way beyond our own grid as I was told many of the prices for clothing are much more realistic, as we are accustomed to. Eminent teen grid retailers price their clothing, hair and accessories at as low as 20L$, these low prices might excite several, but running a grid when very little capital is being made creates difficulties in the maintenance and expansion of the grid, which is why the diminutive size in fashion and land area is less then surprising.

Emerging from a place with very little competition, Asuka shows her extraordinary talent with her hairs, offering us a unique feature, which is a color changing hud for each hair; allowing us to experiment with different hair colors for our ...

By blogging in second life I’ve come to find out that it is one of the most stressful jobs you could take on; from the multifarious types of styling to the critics, who no matter what will have an opinion you’re not satisfied with. Having experience in fashion social scenes I find staying relevant requires you to first be aware of how people respond to your work.

Secondly, be original, and lastly, remain composed when dealing with people who ground themselves with frivolous confrontation. Being aware of how people respond to your work is most important to me because it allows you to change the image of your products as well as yourself to the way you would like to be perceived, making you fully in control of what you create.

In the ensemble I have created I choose to mix contemporary garments with couture, creating a futuristic urban ...

|Fashion Review| Interview | Simone Reverie with Tatanka Kaligawa|

May 31st, 2010 1:33 pm by AnniePaster
I recently had the opportunity of attending the show of Tatanka Kaligawa, designer of Mea- Culpa where I was taken on a whimsical journey trough the immaculate couture garments he sent down his rain forest inspired runway. I later found him after the show to ask him a few questions which can be found bellow.

Simone Reverie: Well firstly I wanted to ask, what was the inspiration behind this collection?

Tatanka Kaligawa: oh, I have a lot of inspirations as you can see, the gowns are quite different in their designs, one of them is inspired by films and artists like the scorpion ones, some of them just develop while I’m working on them, the bridal pride was a bit inspired by the statue of liberty.

Simone Reverie: wow that is very interesting, how would you describe you’re collection in brief words.

Tatanka Kaligawa: A walk through a fantasy ...

Hot Spot | Store To Check out! | Morantique Lush By Mo Miasma|

May 29th, 2010 12:56 pm by AnniePaster
I’ve been visiting many new stores lately, while looking around many sim’s for new and great designers and expanding my list of go to brands I came across a cute little store by the name of Morantique Lush . As I’ve never heard of it I said to myself “why not look around”; Boy did I find a hidden gem! I don’t know if I’ve been living under a rock for past months, not to hear about this store but the jewelry is magnificently gorgeous!

The jewelry designs are simple, yet detailed, each piece crafted to the highest standards of perfection. Continuing to browse I found each vintage piece had a modern flare, making it undesirably adorable. You couldn’t go wrong wearing Morantique Lush, for the reason that each item is so effortlessly powerful.

In today’s look I used the Morantique Lush “Rita necklace” to accent my classic formal style. ...

|Disconnected| : Living Avant-Garde |Annie Paster & Simone Reverie

May 24th, 2010 2:51 pm by AnniePaster

Its bathing suit season, which means this, is the chance to show the new trends of swimwear. To showcase these trends Annie and I have taken you on a photographic journey telling the story of two women who are internally lost, they find comfort in the art of fashion but as they reach the end of their journey they find comfort in more then they anticipated on the desolate ocean. Our outfits are inspired by trend as mixing patterns is sought after this season in swimwear.

Annie, whose style is very bohemian decedent, put this trend into play by first starting the base of her outfit with a bandeau bikini top and vintage bottom in a vibrant indigo, she then fused the base of the bikini with a large brimmed Catalina beach hat in a bohemian pattern which follows in her armadillo stilettos in a snake skin finish. Completing her ...

Simone Reverie|Leading Role|

May 17th, 2010 2:39 pm by AnniePaster

I’ve always been a great supporter of fellow bloggers for the creativity they portray in their editing skills as well as the outfits they compose, but being caught up in getting the correct picture quality and the right bag to match the perfect shoes many bloggers have forgotten their purpose in second life fashion; which is promotion for the talented designers. I for one am guilty of doing just that due to the lack of variety in second life clothing. When shopping I look for quality items and affordability but now that money is not a problem im having trouble finding the perfect quality item that is not seen on every avatar.

Being new it is difficult at times to establish myself as individual when I cant find stores that set the bar for things like opulence which is the reason why im a fan of stiletto moody and BOSL ...

|Natural Lights| Textures |

May 17th, 2010 7:36 am by AnniePaster

Today’s look a bit dramatic but with a natural feeling to it I used a range of shades in this look I didn’t really mix and match which I know many loved to do , But felt like doing something a bit different.

The outfit it head to toe Donna Flora as many of you know I love this brand. I was going to maybe keep top and changed the skirt to a more fitted skirt, I was so in love with the entire dress I couldn’t change it.What I really loved about this dress was it was fully flora, but there were different fabric texture’s , sheer, satin, ruffles, sheers. Which gave a lot of range even with a base design of roses.

Feeling a bit obsessed with the new elf 2 makeups from Gala Phoenix. I couldn’t help wearing one the skin just meshed perfectly with my face. The makeup I choose ...

| Back from a Wet Night | |Style Story| 1 |

May 10th, 2010 5:28 am by AnniePaster

Standing in a dark room I needed to break loose, No longer wanting to live in her shadow throwing on lots of layers. Creating a solid image of movement to the eyes my hair, both sleek and with a shine. As if I just came from a harsh rain from in my McQueen rose boots and flash back Gi Gi tights.

Needed to dry off after a long night of weeping beating myself up in the rain. I stubbed upon a random closed building hoping to escape the rain and not ruin my knit prairie tunic. drying off I soon began to explore this strange building wondering what I’d find within it. Never truly coming back lost in the dream of finding something else, not sure what I really wanted.

“Very often we are our own worst enemy as we foolishly build stumbling blocks on the path that leads to ...

Simone Reverie : Too Cocky To Mingle?

April 24th, 2010 3:52 pm by AnniePaster

As summer shows are dominating the runway as it is that season of warmth I thought it would only be appropriate to create an outfit showing the chromatic colors of summer. The look I have put together is a mixture of futuristic and chic style; I accomplished this look by first playing on my body features with a high-waist fitted tie-dye skirt, a “cool colored” light triadic sweater, futuristic sunglasses and a bright green animal skin clutch giving emphasis to the entire outfit.

The chromatic aspect of my outfit is shown through the use of multiple secondary colors which are both in the sweater and the skirt; these fitted garments create a natural flow as they cling to my hourglass figure. The elements of shape used in this outfit are the vertical lines on the skirt making me appear taller with less weight; this pattern is best for evening out ...

| Fading Concrete jungle |

April 19th, 2010 8:46 am by AnniePaster

It time for a little reinvention. between getting ready for school/work and shopping , shows I started to get lost in the look of my house it slowly became a mess , clothes everywhere book/magazine scattered across floor . and day old take out by my desk.my room was in need of a fresh and clean modern look , and not something fit for a jungle.

SO I was off to Primo- FURNITURE and ARCHITECTURE , which had some really great stuff.
I happened to stumble into this cute little house that had very modern and clean/clear look to it with small conchs and wall hangings and bookcases/plants. everything was neutral and flowed . It really inspired me to create today’s look.

Wearing on my all time favourite jackets from (Milk Motion) which was a nude base/pink coral tone with a bit of a pop with sequins around the collar ...

CCC|Bohemian Sunrise |

April 18th, 2010 5:47 am by AnniePaster

Waking up to the morning sunrise I wanted to create a clean cropped look today , Something light and sweet for spring . Not jumping into full on floral prints items just yet I took a much more suddle approach and wore a low cut sweetheart neck lined [KA] Maxi Bohemian Dress
which had a bold print in silky baby blue/pink/lander blend to it with a not so noticeable soft roses through it as a cute detail.

Keeping with my Bohemian theme look I needed some high waisted baggy wrinkled pants
from one of -Veschi- new releases and heels from .*Courtisane*. . The pants had a wide bottom to them and with the heels really flattered the much more bold and colourful top of the look . Not to over power the look but embellish it I added a few matching accessories from PACADI Jasha not going overboard.

CCC| Guest Blogger | Simone Reverie | come down….im coming up|

April 17th, 2010 5:45 pm by AnniePaster

Exhibition is the fundamental base of fashion in and out of second life, from the past it has defiantly evolved in second life, making it more realistic; As fashion in second life grows many fashionista(o)’s feel the need to show themselves as individual or they will be yet another to fade into the background in what is known as the fast pace of style and trend.

This known interpretation is increasing rapidly giving so many who are unaware a false perception of what fashion really means. Looking past the glamour is where the answer can be found, there are countless people who constantly look at fashion to be frivolous in second life because they find the presented ideal image of “perfection” to be insulting.

Fashion is an art form and a business creating revenue for so many known talented designers such as LeLutka who break barriers for so many others. ...

February 18th, 2010 2:56 pm by AnniePaster
Align CenterLet me introduce my new vintage furniture brand Melu Deco.
It aims to reproduce in Second Life the intense atmosphere of Art Deco furnishing, both through the reproduction of outstanding items of famous designers and artisans, and through the free invention of patterns and shapes inspired by the Art Deco colors, materials and objects.
The Art Deco style is characterized by simple lines and shapes, rich decor, and the use of exotic and precious materials (african or asian woods, burls and briar), which reflect the industrial culture of the time.
