AVENUE Models proudly presents “For the Love of McQueen”, a tribute to the late Alexander McQueen, where 38 fashion designers have come together to lend their support in each creating a design that is inspired by McQueen’s work and spirit.

These original designs created within a week, will be showcased in a fashion show on 28th February 2010 at 12 pm SLT on GOLden shopping sim after which the designs will be available for sale at the designers’ stores for the month of March. 100% of the sales proceeds will be donated to the charity, Keep A Child Alive, since Alexander McQueen was a known supporter of similar AIDS / HIV charities.

The project initiated and produced by Rusch Raymaker, CEO of AVENUE Inc, shares her inspiration for organising this project:

Angie Mornington, the host of Fabulous Fashion on Treet TV gave me the best present on Monday! The Lu Sisters of Paper Couture were the Designer Guests!! Ava and Cora were an AB-FAB delight! Both were filled with wit, pomp & sass… a real treat for me personally as I’ve long been a fan of their work. Thank you Angie for asking me to take part in this episode as a Guest Stylist! I shared some of my favorite accessories from Anexx, LeeZu, So Many Styles and Marcopol Oh Studio. I do love me. In fact, my shape hasn’t changed since I made my face back in January of ‘08. But, I do like to create new characters and makes shapes for friends. PXL has some great skins, and the JULY series really inspired me to make this custom Pepper shape.

I thought I’d dress “Pepper” up in something fitting for her character. She’s full of attitude and sass, so I had to start with the new hair from Kookie ($50L FTW)! I adore So Many Styles and Irie’s put out a $50L jacket for the Red Cross Haiti Relief fund. It’s nice to shop and feel good about donating money. I encourage you all to spread the love around either in-world or directly to the Red Cross. Every dollar counts.

I am in love with Aoharu’s newest Tweed suit sets. Machang was so very kind to pass me the dresses and jackets. I love the belt detail on the dress, I’m infatuated with high-waisted pants too so this was a real treat. The jacket is classic Aoharu style with realistic shapes and textures. And, I love the resizing menu! Sooo easy!
