Analog Dog Releases New Hairs!!

Ok, so, I am completely stoked about Queue Marlowe’s new Hair release at Analog Dog, AD for short. Why, yes, I am stoked because the hairs are completely gorgeous. It is true, but it is so much more than just that. This weeks release includes one that Queue named after yours truly! The style is called Ais (see the pic).

See how awesome this hair looks! OMG!!! this is my RL hair! No, REALLY, this is actually very close to my RL hair style (see my in world profile RL pic, if you don’t believe me) and next time I get a hair cut it will be even closer cause I am taking in this picture, pointing to it and saying, “Yeah …. make me look like that,” so it is going to get even closer. As for the actual construction the quality is superb, there are rarely any issues with Alpha due to new techniques queue is employing, and the color ranges are outstanding thanks to the color changing huds. The news gets even better though the price is exceptional (a color pack costs 300L – I bought both the Dark Browns and Lighter Blondes). An all around solid offering.

While you are at AD be sure to pick up the free hair ball. I know it sounds gross, but this isn’t something your cat hacked up. Queue is a generous lady and puts out FREE hairs for her customers on a fairly regular basis, or for anyone for that matter. In it are some of her most adorable hairstyles in a single color, but the hairs are mod so you can change up the color to suit your needs.

My favorite of the free hairs… you guessed it, Ash in the color ash (which I have to change)! … this is the hair I used to pretend was named for me, but it really wasn’t. Yay! I don’t have to pretend anymore. So, even if you don’t buy anything else you can pick up her free hair ball, but I highly recommend you do buy something else namely Ais or Tillie or Fuente, because these styles are just plain HOT.

P.S. – If you have never been to either -Glam Affair- or the Dressing Room you really should check both places out. I am loving this Sofia Dark Skin by -Glam Affair- from the Dressing Room. I tried out the hairstyles with both white and black skins, and yep, it looks gorgeous with both types of skins.

Potter’s Field…

Where the unknown, the strangers, the criminals are buried.

This is blog #100 for me, and I am choosing to focus it on the couture from and the actual event known as Potter’s Field, Mourning Couture Event. This is an event which includes the incredible talents and creative minds of some people in SL that I have been fortunate enough to become friends with during my time in SL, some more recent than others, some of whom have not only affected me directly but I have in turn been able to impact. #100 lets me shine the light on just a few of the people who have MADE my SL, in more ways than constructing it. And as you will see, this blog is also a first for me as well, because in order to showcase one of the designs I was given, I was forced to create a male avatar. So in this article besides seeing these amazing creations of others you will meet Ash in his first appearance, but hopefully not the last. (I welcome comments on Ash’s male form and things that should/could be done differently. I am new at the whole men’s fashions and shapes thing; please bear that in mind and be kind when you suggest things.)

Potter’s Field, Mourning Couture Event is the brainchild of Babyhoney Bailey, who is the creative mind be Djinn & Tonic and one of the collaborators behind .44 Caliber, not to mention countless sim designs and build projects across SL. She is excellent at taking a design concept, creating an immersive story line around it, and assembling a field of talent that never fails to deliver and impressive display of creativity and genius.

Inside the Abandoned Road Side Dinner

The event started July 24th and goes through August 24th. The event features a myriad of offerings from skins to accessories to clothing (a hopefully complete list with prices at the tail end of this article.) from the likes of .44 Caliber, &Bean, Djinn & Tonic, Fear & Clothing, -Glam Affair-, Lark, Nomine, Pididdle, PIG, Sanctity Poses, Sangre Noir, The Obscene, and Waverly Kline Designs. The creations are probably best summed up in this statement from M4ri1yn Magic, -Glam Affair- Brand Manager, in his notecard to bloggers about the -Glam Affair- designs:

The funeral theme is both sad and exciting and since ages the mourning couture has inspired stylists, designers and artists.

But more about the actual fashion designs in a moment; first, the back story for the event as shared through the notecards handed out at the entry way.

From (1) Potter’s Field — The Beginning

There was once a place in Louisiana, somewhere vaguely far outside of New Orleans, called Shadow Holler.

Established in 1602 as a refuge for a group of spiritualists, it was once a hot spot for tourists and those seeking medical treatment for a number of incurable diseases. That was precisely how it remained until a hot summer night in 1910.

People say it was the mail carrier who discovered the oddity, coming to deliver as he had done for years, only to find that every single living soul in Shadow Holler had vanished suddenly and without a trace.

Lights were burning, music was playing, uneaten food littered tables, and livestock wandered around uncared for. People drove en masse to see for themselves once word began to spread, and though they could remember having been there, they couldn’t for the life of them remember any of the names of Shadow Holler’s residents.

Over the years Shadow Holler became somewhat of a legend, a bedtime fairytale… or a nightmare depending on the narrator.

In 1913, an anonymous buyer purchased Shadow Holler and began to restore the town. Slowly, very slowly, people started to buy up the cheap real estate and settle in. Soon, the town blossomed and turned into a lovely community where businesses thrived and people prospered.

The only indication of there ever being anything amiss were the nameless headstones that littered Potter’s Field next to The Roadside Diner. A silent and anonymous memorial for those that were lost or misplaced.

From (2) Potter’s Field — Welcome to Potter’s Field

7 o’clock, Memphis
106 and climbing — The earth is so hot you can smell it on your clothes. You curse the broken AC as coffee stains your white t-shirt while you’re pulling out of a rest area, you wonder if you’ll have time to change.

Author’s side note: I am from Memphis and yesterday temperatures got to 106 degrees… oddly despite the heat I was chilled as I read this notecard to the point of getting goose-flesh all over, due to the similarities and the fact that I have actually traveled the path detailed in the story. 9 o’clock, Brookhaven — The thunder moans like a lover, and the wind makes a mockery of the rain against your stripped windshield wipers. Radio busted outside of Jackson and the silence inside the car starts to weigh in at your shoulders.

Midnight, Somewhere outside of New Orleans — The pavement’s coated with freshly fallen rain and the crows are lining the wires. Your floorboard is littered, empty cigarette packages, to go boxes, and empty coffee cups. You veer off the main road, following the signs to a diner promising the “Best food in the south!”

1 o’clock, Somewhere further outside of New Orleans — You exit the car and the stretch you take has your tired muscles singing.

Lighting a cigarette, you enter a diner to find it empty, food still hot on the tables, juke box humming aggressively in the corner. Smoke billows quietly from the stove outside of the kitchen window, and somewhere a faucet was left running.

Stepping behind the counter cautiously to investigate, a crash explodes and echoes through the near silent space causing you to jump. You move out the screen door quickly only to be greeted by the sight of a raccoon digging through the debris of a fallen trash can.

The faint sound of music melts into the smell of wood smoke in the air, and you sigh, trying to collect what’s left of your nerves.

Stubbing out your cigarette, you glance to the raccoon, already waddling away with its take. You follow the sound of the music to the edge of a field, up ahead a freshly covered grave hosts burning candles.

Nice day for a funeral.

An owl sounds. Oddly, for the first time, at the edge of this space you realize that you are totally, absolutely, and completely alone.

Completely Alone at Potter's Field

Thanks to Emerald and the derender feature … I WAS able tot be completely alone. Just the way I usually like to explore a sim. So, now for the incredible fashions that are so good they have me gender bending to show you as well as making me run around like a Gothic Mary Poppins for 2 weeks!

First up is -Glam Affair-, where designer Aida Ewing has found her inspiration in art, collecting images from the lowbrow surreal pop art current and from the big classics – Mark Ryden, Natalie Shau, Alex Gross, Joe Sorren and many others suggested the solemn but playful style of the outfits, the skins and the poses, a couple of them reproducing Antonio’s Canova sculptures. -Glam Affair- offers three dress, three skins, six poses AND the accessories to go with the poses! -Glam Affair- Lady Crow

-Glam Affair- Lady Crow is a silk crepe and lace full length dress with feathered shoulder attachments and without the high neck collar which comes with the outfit. Also seen in this picture are the 1st of the 3 – Sofia Funeral skins which -Glam Affair- produced for this event and their lace umbrella and pose from their Potter’s Field – Mourn Poses Fat Pack for 480L.

-Glam Affair- Miss Mourn

-Glam Affair- Miss Mourn is a silk balloon dress with a fitted top and adorable cameo brooch at the throat with pretty chiffon trimmings along the bottom of the skirt and up the bodice and over the shoulders. Texturing on this one is super delicate. Perfect match with the parasol (if you can see shadows in world the patterns left by the parasol are fascinating. Also check out the 2nd of the 3 – Sofia Funeral skins pictured here. Absolutely breath-taking. I can’t wait to try it out with some of the tattoo layer makeups that are coming out and see if I can put some blood-red lips on that gorgeous face.

-Glam Affair- Veuve Ponsardin

-Glam Affair- Veuve Ponsardin is a sassy, punkish, A-line mini-dress with gloves, a prim and proper top hat (which includes a tattoo layer shadow for that extra realistic touch), and sexy sheer net leggings. Chiffon and a silky taffeta fabric make up this cutting edge creation. Perfect for your edgy goth girl. And what self-respecting goth doesn’t have a few skeletons, or in this case skulls, lying around for pictures. The skull and pose are again part of the Potter’s Field – Mourn Poses Fat Pack from -Glam Affair-. This pic features the 3rd and final of the 3 – Sofia Funeral skins. and yes the lace on the face is on the skin. Word is that we might see that offered in the future as a tattoo layer option for use with other skins, but nothing is final so no promises as yet.

Two quick notes before I move on. The earrings shown in these pics are from FuLo a new jewelry store from creator Dita Tran. Check it out. These are called “Camilla” and the color is black and were a review copy that Dita shared. I was majorly impressed by the realism these jewels offer. Some of the most true to First Life jewelry that I have seen in Second Life. And as far as these offerings from Glam Affair… the creators and managers at -Glam Affair- were one of the last, if not the last, to get involved in this event, but to their credit, you would never be able to tell. One of the strongest theme offerings in the event and that I have seen presented in world. -Glam Affair- is not on my list of stores to watch and frequent.

Next up is a dear friend and brilliant creator on the rise, Sienia Trevellion. Sienia is a builder, fashion designer, cool chick extraordinaire. She is someone I feel completely blessed to be able to call a friend, because not only does she have talent as a creator but she is one of the warmest, funniest, most generous people I know in any life. Sienia is constantly challenging herself to bigger and better things. For each event she participates in, she creates in depth thoroughly thought out, detail oriented gorgeous creations. Most notable of her recent successes are her outfits for It Was A Blur and Melt. Every time I wear one of the pieces that she designed for these events people stop me to ask me about the look I am wearing. Pictured above is Ash, my male shape and skin (LaVie free group gift – Liam), wearing Absence, Sienia’s first male couture item created exclusively for this event. The neck piece can be worn high to cover most the face or as I have done here slightly lower for more facial exposure, I wanted you to be able to see the fire in my eyes.

The outfit comes with the option to wear the manorak (the long skirt / kilt thing) or just the pants (Ladies, hate to say it but this outfit totally works for us, too. So don’t be shy and not get it just cause it was designed for the fellas. The pants are smokin’ hot on us too.). Me I am partial to the kilt thing. Nothin’ sexier than a man confident enough in his masculinity, or as in this case a woman dressed as a man, to rock the kilt options. The waist line on the pants shows either way and exposes those sexy parts just above the hip bones in the front. RAWR!

Sienia Trevellion's Absence for Men – Waist Up

To see the detail in the textures Sienia used you will have to click and go to the larger pictures on flicker … full-sized you can see the lush velour corduroy in a blue-black color. You can also check out this awesome necklace in detail that I picked up at HoD last Friday. It was their 50L Friday offering, so this exact item might not be available but they had several other impressive choices if it is not. The facial and the ear piercings are the Takayama piercings from Mandala. Demonic eyes just seemed to round out the look since Sienia already had me in horns.

Sienia Trevellion's Silence for Women – Waist Up

Sienia Trevellion’s Silence for the women out there is so perfect for this event. You can actually picture a woman in mourning wearing this back in Victorian England. The skirt is from a similar fabric to that of the men’s Absence and has brassy gold details in the brooch at the neck and the keys and belt buckle at the waist.

You can see the lacy layers in the skirt in the picture above. Yet again an example of Sienia’s attention to detail. The agony this woman goes through to ensure pristine seaming never ceases to amaze me and unlike a lot of outfits with detail at the cleavage point she manages to retain that detail, not an easy task.

They say the devil is in the details. Do you think that is why Sienia included her Horned Gossamer Cape, Gilded Horns, and Gilded Horned Ring? Is she that little devil who gets in to all the details? I think she is. And I love her for it.

I am super excited for two reasons. First, I get to use the new ReBlog Feature in Word Press. It is that feature that lets you share a great post with your readers when you find it with the click of a couple of buttons. Couldn’t be easier!! Second, there is a great new blog on the block from some really, lovely and talented ladies exploring a theme that I wholly support. That theme is taking the collections put together on RL websites like Polyvore and ShopStyle and recreating them on the 3D avatars of SL. Can’t wait to see how they pull it off. Oh and, guys, they aren’t leaving you out. They have guys looks too!

For the most part my look is fairly clean and simple. Not a ton of accessories most days. I tend to put on more when I am doing a blog piece, than I would to roam around for no other reason than I can’t TP when I put on too much. I like to choose a few high quality pieces which well represent my tastes.

Armidi – Gisaci Barlu Fiore – Deep Blue

Today’s outfit is very much like the sort of thing, you might see me wearing, should you catch me out doing my Fifty Linden Friday shopping latter on today. Simple, clean, well-textured, elegant craftsmanship – in other words, Armidi. It also embraces one of the “It” colors this year, Teal. I love teal and even though I have used it a lot already, expect to see more.

Armidi Gisaci – Vidalia Pump – Fui Fui Turquoise

A few nights ago at Armidi’s “Final Sale”, I picked up this dress, the hair and the shoes, all of which I have had in my Armidi wish list for over a year. The well thought through design includes 3 skirt options, two of which are sculpted but still easy to edit if you need to and have a cute little tie in the back (a detail you can see if you click on the picture and go look at the big version on my flickr page.) and a flexi one which I will likely wear with pants as a top more than as an actual dress. The dress doesn’t disappoint on any level, the hair makes me feel beautiful, and the shoes make me long to find them in RL.

One caution about All of Armidi’s releases before you buy. Be aware they often do not offer all clothing layers for an article of clothing. So you may only have a shirt on a shirt layer or a pair of pants on a pants layer. This used to be less common and many of Armidi designs have been around awhile and do not embrace the current trend (which I hope continues of including all clothing layers for each article of clothing). So, now, you are forewarned. That said you can get some lovely, well-made clothing and hair items on the cheap if you act now. Best of luck to you.

Julia comes with both streaked and regular in a single pack. I strongly recommend trying on the demos, because no matter how much you love these hairs on someone else’s avatar they may not work with yours. For example. I love Julia, but I am just not crazy about how it looks on my avatar. Also I recommend to try a hair base, if you choose to try Eric. For me it made all the difference in a No and a Maybe.

Lovin’ the [Atomic] July Group Gift. See how beside myself I am, my arms are all twisted up and there is a picture later where I really am beside myself over this luscious skin. Can’t wait for the full skin line’s upcoming release and this gift was sooooo worth the 250L group fee. Linden Labs, are you listening? I NEED MORE GROUP SPACE!!

Check out the detail on that jewelry from +ROZOREGALIA+. I can’t believe I have had this tucked away in my inventory – just sitting there going to waste! Well not anymore! They are even available on Xstreet, if you don’t feel up to going to the store, even though I would highly suggest it. This jewelry is as realistic as any jewelry I have found in SL and is exactly the sort of thing I wear in RL on those rare occasions that I wear casual jewelry.

Since I was shopping, I was sure to wear comfortable shoes and bring along a big bag with all the essentials like my sour cream and onion Pringle’s potato chips. Love the details in these bags from “NINIKO” that they are GIVING away on their hunt for stones (I think all 5 are outside, but since I never found bag 4 of 5, I can’t say for sure.).

And the adorable new espadrilles from [Gos] were not only comfortable but they didn’t hold me back thanks to their special feature scripted into them for a low lag option. From what I understand it strips out all the scripts you don’t need once you get your outfit set. Course that was hard for me because I couldn’t decide on white or teal and which parts to make which colors – SOOOO many options. That Gos! He and his partner like to think of everything!

The whole outfit is something simple for those lazy days of summer. Great for shopping like the Armidi “Final Sale” going on now. Join “theWarehouse” group for more details. The AOHARU top can be worn long and short, but I mostly wore it short, because I didn’t want those other frantic shoppers holding me back. Also, I find my AO sometimes causes problems with posing with the long version of the AOHARU top. Not at the Armidi “Final Sale” though, cause I was a good fellow shopper and detached all my HUDs and other scripted items. HINT HINT! As one person said, “Old School It!”

I loved this exhibit and was blown away with the emotions that the creators managed to express with only shades of white and grey. This is a must see exhibit, because no pictures can do it justice, though there are many out there better than mine.

A SL Legend Dies At The Hands Of Linden Labs

Editors Note: This article is updated to reflect that LagNoMore is the only one of the two sims that is closing. Rustica will stay.

The story is old, in that we have heard it over and over. But this time, it really hit home for me, as I learned that one of my favorite home away from homes, brainchild creation of Maxwell Graf, died this weekend, simply because, once again,Linden Labs failed to protect the creator. For those of you that never saw it, I am so sorry. The original is gone forever. A loss shared by ALL SL residence whether they know it or not. NOW the main Rustica sim WILL STAY so you can still get Max’s great creations, but the area around it, the sim LagNoMore, which allowed you to explore his works is gone.

Below is footage of Rustica and Rune. Rune actually left before LAGNOMORE (the area which displayed everything outside the castle – houses, village, forest, landscaping stuff) and not as a result of this particular incident, but one has to wonder, if it too didn’t cease to exist as part of the trickle down effect of the continuous theft of content from its creator. For those who missed it, here are two of the last looks though there will be a couple of broadcasts on Treet TV, in the near future, of the actual last days.

I feel blessed to have Max and Lyrric and Max’s creations as part of my Second Life. Some of the best belly laughs I have had in SL were rolling across the floors of this castle, on the hillsides of this sim, or in the seaside amphitheater. Max and Lyrric frequently roamed the sim and would visit those who came to their place for a visit or to shop. Some of the best customer service I have ever received was from these two, and I am not limiting that to my second life experiences. I feel privileged to call these two friends.

So, today, I am reminded of a Snoopy quote:

Why can’t we get all the people together in the world that we really like and then just stay together? I guess that wouldn’t work. Someone would leave. Someone always leaves and then we have to say good-bye. I hate good-byes. I know what I need. I need more hellos.

LOTD – Holiday Weekend In The Hamptons

So the 4th of July Holiday weekend is finally here…

… and I am feeling like I want to get away to the beach to celebrate and nurse my jealousy over my good friend Khloe going to see Michael Bublé tonight. I am interested more in the casual evening feel of sitting out watching fireworks on the beach or enjoying a little time walking through hidden gardens so where to go and more importantly how to dress. As the sultry sounds of Michael Bublé’s Haven’t Met You Yet wafted through my mind, I began planning my look.

So where would I be going … Duh, the Hamptons, THE summer hotspot for the rich, famous, and friends of the rich and famous, of course! I can’t do it in Real Life why not in my Second Life. I have heard that “Manhattan has officially moved to the beach, and fashion won’t be left behind” and that “the Hamptons this summer was going to be all about “the beach.”” I can do this! I can look like a true Hamptonter!

In order to plan my look I would have to plan my day. I would start by exploring the Montauk Lighthouse followed by sunbathing and guy watching at Coopers Beach in Southampton, off-roading through Hither Hills State Park, cocktails and a stroll through Bridge Gardens, and finally I could watch some gorgeous fireworks back on Sagg Main beach.

Ah Cocktails! How bout a recipe for those cool drinks I will enjoying sipping at Bridge Gardens? Yes, I said cocktails, plural. I am on vacation! I can have more than one. Who do you think you are my mother? Well you are not cause she would be pouring me another drink, not lecturing me on drinking too much on vacation. OK, I will share what I am sipping, just like I will share the details of what I am wearing.

Hamptons Heaven
Stoli White Pomegranate Vodka (1.5 oz)
Crush with fresh lime, a dash of Simple Syrup to taste, and Fresh Mint
Shake over ice.
Serve with a splash of soda.

Think Pink – Stand Up To Bullies

Pink Shirt Day

Well, guys, I am still out enjoying Real Life and though I miss blogging and SL sometimes mostly I am too busy to think about it. However, sometimes there are things so important you just have to make time for them. Pink Shirt Day is one of those things and it is an anti-bullying campaign. So i am back briefly to tell you this really cool story, if you haven’t heard about it, and to support this awesome movement. Heres the story

There was this kid in Canada who started at a new school when he was a freshman and his mom had him wear a pink shirt to school. Some class mates started picking on him. Two older boys at the school put a stop to it and they went out and spent 50$ of their own money at a local discount or thrift store and bought a slew of pink shirts and then started a social networking campaign to get a bunch more kids at school to all wear pink, too, to show support for the kid and to let the bullies know that they weren’t ok with their classmate being bullied. For three years now it has been an international event. The day was moved from February to April this year to avoid conflicts with another similar type event. Tomorrow is the day that everyone is encouraged to wear pink shirts to show their support for the cause and their unwillingness to accept bullying. Pink Shirt Day – Stand Up To Bullies

This is the first official Pink Shirt Day in SL. We as a community are going to join together to take a stand against bullying. We do so under the banner of Pink Shirt Day. I decided to go pink head to knee, and several creators have made gifts to help raise awareness and spread information about bullying. More about that at the end of the article, but first a few words on bullying that were sent out by the events primary organizer in SL, December Dollinger:

Bullying happens when someone scares or hurts another person on purpose, physically, mentally, or emotionally. Usually, this happens on a repeat basis – the victim being attacked over and over, an unable – or afraid – to defend themselves.

Bullying can include physical violence, spreading bad rumors, purposefully excluding another person from a group or activity, teasing in a mean or inappropriate way, or even gathering others to “gang up” on others.

Cyberbullying happens electronically. This can include some of the categories of normal bullying, but can also include posting nasty rumors, pictures, or messages about others on blogs, forums, or other websites, or using another’s name to pose as them and spread rumors about them via the internet.

YOU can make a difference! If you see someone being bullied and do nothing about it, you are just as guilty as the bully themselves. Turning a blind eye to any kind of abuse is only enabling the abusers to continue harming others. Speak up! Stand up! The more people are willing to stand up for what they believe in, the less power the bullies will have to abuse and control others.

So, please, take a stand against bullying, in your First and Second Life. Bullying is not something only felt by school-aged children, but by millions of people worldwide – of all ages, genders, races…it knows no limits.

So one of the really awesome things about this day in SL is that the creators are being generous to encourage your participation and to show their support for the cause. One creation that is a little different from the classic pink shirt set is a pose at [LAP] that Dove Swanson created called Stronger Together. You can pick it up at her main shop just inside the doorway.

Another cool photo related gift is the Photo Set that Voshie Paine of Le Petite Morte created that will be released on April 13th at midnight that will be available for half price for 24 hours in honor of the event. The price will be set at 150L, when on April 15th it will revert back to 300L. It’s a bit different from her normal designs because it does NOT- come with a texture change option, but it IS modifiable and copy.

Going on a break.

I will hopefully write one more article this weekend and then I am focusing on RL. In focusing on RL, that means loads less time in SL, so the time that I do spend in world over the next bit of time is going to be spent focusing on spending time with friends (that I already don’t get enough time with as it is), exploring incredible builds of SL, and enjoying the live music community of SL.

I am sure all or most of you can understand this choice. I will be back from time to time, and when things move me, I might even blog about it. But for now, Ashes to Ashes and shopping are just taking a back seat, while I focus on what is really important to me – family, friends, health, and laughing.

I will check in from time to time and see how the world is treating you guys, so please feel free to drop me a note or a suggestion of some place that is a must see (store or place to explore).

So what is 50L Fridays you say? Well every Friday, a group of designers will place an item in the front of their main store marked down to only 50L. The item might be something from the store marked down, or maybe an exclusive, special item. Each week the designers and items rotate. The items will be available from 12:01 am SLT on Friday until 11:59pm SLT on Friday, this can vary a bit from time to time when the designers get tied up . You can get the items by following the SLURLs in this post.

I have gotten away from traditionally what I wanted to do with this blog and that was explore fashion and places around the grid. So today marks a return to that. It is a quick piece showing you one of the latest designers I have discovered thanks to my dear friend, Bety Dudek … pictures are in front of a new acquaintance, Burke Benoir’s, “Beware of Pick Pockets and Loose Women Sign“ behind me. TOO CUTE!

Bety is one of those girls who is always finding the cutest thing and making it her own. The girl has just got style. When I told her I was going to blog this new store she showed me, -Veschi-, I truly thought she was going to kill me for spilling her latest-greatest-want-to-keep-it-a-secret find. The texturing was so well done and the prices so reasonable that I just had to share. So I begged and pleaded and batted my Irresistible Eyelashes from Crissy Designs that I always wear and she caved. So here it goes… & thank you, Baby, for letting me blog your wonderful find. Here is to short and sweet, yeah right. If you believed that, this is probably your first time encountering my blog or me personally.

I just love >TRUTH< hair and jewelry from > alaMood <. My pictures don’t even begin to do these creations justice. I have tons inventory from both stores and they are really a staple in my wardrobe. When in doubt they are two of the folders I turn to the most for that special something. Solid quality workmanship in every piece I have bought from either of these designers, and I have bought a lot from both. I did actually go through over 100 hairs in the course of 2 days finding the one I wanted to put with this look. So many worked – long / short, dark / light. In the end though I had to tell the >TRUTH< (Bad pun intended).

LOTD 14 Jan 2010 – Face Close up

Here is something super useful about the J’s Boots! If you buy the long boot there is a part included called (For pants) J’s Foot attach Boots. This boot is the ankle boot in disguise. So, if you were debating which boot to buy, the ankle or the long, or you were thinking about getting both, the budget choice for you is the J’s Long Boots Round because it gives you the best of both worlds and saves inventory space to boot. Gosh, the textures on these boots are so luscious they are lickable, and I couldn’t believe what a perfect match the BlueGray was for my new, -Veschi- Bourgewhat? turquoise shirt. Some thing worth noting about this shirt is that not only did it come with all shirt and jacket and undershirt layers, but it also included the bottom of the shirt on an underwear and pant layer, too for every possilble layering option available. This is a particular tell a friend of mine looks for in a good designer. Wish more designers did this.

LOTD 14 Jan 2010 Boots & Belt

The colors really just seamed to come together with this look. Like the Ishaya Slacks in Acid from Zaara. The highlighting in the slackes was almost a perfect match for the top. Yet, still, something was needed to finish the look. *COCO* to the rescue. The belt, another wardrobe staple, Brown Leather Belt with Silver Hardware. Ahhhh *COCO* … I would almost buy her new releases blindly she so rarely goes wrong for me.

So this was my LOTD. First one in a long while. Hope you enjoyed it. Leave me a quick note or comment and let me know what you thought. If you need details or SLURLs they are listed below. How To Have A Picture Perfect New Years

Happy New Year – Good Friends, Good Fun

Olaenka Chesnokov, the creator of oOo Studio, had some of the old gang round for early drinks and poses and, OMG!, what a blast we had. If you have never taken a pic with more than 5 people in it in SL you are really in for a treat … half the fun is in the organizing and having an excuse to get your friends all together … we even had extra’s lurking round.
