I googled it and apparently it’s only a word according to Urban Dictionary. Urban Dictionary also says “Man Points” is a thing, though, so I don’t know how credible it would be to use them as a source.

Even though the Fantasy Faire is drawing to a close, all of these great outfits and accessories and awesome things will be available in the creator’s mainstores for you to purchase! And one thing you’ll be wanting to check out and pick up is these awesome dresses and wings from Epic.

Both the dresses and the wings come in an array of color combinations. I’m a sucker for all things fairy-ish and especially wings and I’m loving these Sparkle Dream wings. They are a hand-painted design and animated (you can also stop the animation by clicking them) and the folder includes a version for photos. They also have pixie dust particles that you can turn on and off!! They are mod/copy and ALSO available in a version for petites!

The dresses are mesh and include appliers for Tangos and Lush breasts. Again, they come in a bunch of really gorgeous, sparkly color combinations.

Another Fantasy Faire post!

This one is showcasing a full avatar from Hoof It! As I said in my post about the Dryad avi from Unique Obsession, I dont get to play with full avatars that often, so, this is a really cool opportunity.

This is the Hippocampus avatar. It’s a mixture of horse and fish and it’s pretty awesome. I’m blogging the Hippocampus in red; the markings are like that of a koi fish. This is the “Showa” version – the accompanied NC says “the name ‘showa’ refers to the markings – the six models have colours based on types of koi carp – Hikari, Kohaku, Orenji, Showa, Tancho and Utsuri.” I love attention to detail like that!

It comes with the HUD pictured above which can be used to customize your Hippocampus, change it’s expression and trigger animations. You can also change the speed of it’s “swim” animation.

Like with all deforming mesh avatars, you may have to relog when switching in and out. Otherwise, you’ll end up looking like this:

I don’t have very many complete avatars like this and it was such a cool thing to photograph. The Dryad from UO comes with bark/trunk/branch attachments, outfit, four different skins, shape and various layer options to create your look.

Above, I wanted to show how different windlights enhance different parts of the avi. Each has it’s own unique ~feel. The detail is simply gorgeous in all lights!

So, now on to the really fun part! I get to wear awesome stuff and show it to you! *bounces around*

Clearly, I am excited for this.

I remember when Al Vulo first released their petite avatars (whoa, I just realized that was over a year ago!). I was so excited and I wanted one so bad, but I knew I wouldn’t wear it often and they were kinda pricey. I love faries and I remember my partner being like GET IT and that was all the push I needed. Truth be told, beyond a few photoshoots, I rarely wear my petite avi and that’s a damn shame because she’s pretty much flaw free. I don’t regret the purchase ONE BIT and I’ve spent way more Lindens on way more frivolous and unnecessary things since then. I was really psyched when I received a petite outfit to review and got to bring her out again.

Above, I am wearing the Petite Fairytale outfit in white from Ankle Biter. You get the dress, mask, antennae, wings, jewelry, tail, crown, sparkle and butterfly particles, as well as avi enhancements. It’s a beautiful outfit and I absolutely love all the tiny accessories. (was anyone else obsessed with tiny doll house furniture as a kid? no? just me? okay!) This outfit also comes in black, if you want to go for that ~darker princess look.

Above, I am wearing the Petite Dragonfly outfit from Ankle Biter. It comes with the outfit, jewelry, ears, wings, antennae, sparkle particles… SO MUCH STUFF. And, what’s more awesome? This particular offering is part of the FANTASY FAIRE HUNT. BONUS!

The FF Hunt begins on Tuesday and it sounds really incredible. I can’t imagine the kind of work that goes into something so immersive. The FF Hunt is a story-driven, HUD-based hunt in two parts.. The first part involves exploring the Faire sims and collecting an item from each of the shopping sims. When the first part of the hunt is complete, players will receive a bundle of unique gifts created by our sim designers commemorating the sims and FF2013. In addition to the gift basket, players will receive a second HUD that allows them to continue the adventure on our Hunt sim, the Valley of Ish’Nar. This second part of the hunt is full of puzzles and quests that must be completed, but the reward is big for not only does the player become the hero of the story, but when he saves the day he wins access to the treasure trove of all your gifts.

Cool, right??? I’d get on that if I were you. I know I’ll be trying it out.

I was so psyched when I was chosen to blog the Fantasy Faire. I love everything fantasy, but I rarely find the time or occasion to wear it. Mermaid and fairy and demon and elf and fawn gear all sit in my inventory, relatively unused. It’s unfortunate because it’s some of the most unique and interesting stuff that Second Life creators have to offer, imo. POINT BEING – I’M GETTING TO PLAY DRESS UP! And not just any dress up, but I get to wear gorgeous, colorful, imaginative pieces and take pictures and show them off!

For those of you who are wondering what exactly the Fantasy Faire is, the Official FF Press Release says it as well as I ever could:

“Celebrating its fifth year, Fantasy Faire 2013 is the largest gathering of fantasy designers, enthusiasts, roleplayers and performers in the virtual world. From Saturday April 20 to Sunday April 28, treat yourself to nine days of shopping, live music concerts, auctions, hunts and roleplaying as thousands of Second Life residents and creators bring their own visions together to support the American Cancer Society’s vision of a world without cancer.

Avatars, clothing, furnishings, gadgets and exclusive items are available from more than 130 of SL’s top Fantasy Creators across ten stunning sims designed by some of the visionary artists behind many of the hottest spots on the SL destination guide.”

As of 5:00 SLT, the FF has raised L$3,296,095. DO YOU KNOW HOW INCREDIBLE THAT IS? In less than 48 hours ! That’s over $13,000 IRL. FOR THE AMERICAN CANCER SOCIETY! What’s even better, is that EVERYONE WINS! Not only is the money going to an awesome cause, but you get AWESOME STUFF! THIS IS EXCITING, PEOPLE, OKAY?

I was disappointed that I didn’t get to take full advantage of the early access day for bloggers, but my attention and mind were with Boston and it was hard to focus. I did manage to tear myself away from RL for a much needed break and snagged a few pictures of the landing point. As always, the venue is breathtaking and whimsical.

There are 2 free full avatars (thanks to The Plastik) for you to snag when you land to help keep the lag down. From there, portals carved out of large trees will take you to your chosen destination.

I wish I could have a few hours explore this place completely on my own, with no one else on the sim. There are literally thousands of things to see. I mean, seriously, TEN SIMS WORTH OF THINGS. ALL THE THINGS!!! Alas, now it is crowded and much to laggy to enable shadows, so YOU’LL JUST HAVE TO GO EXPLORE ON YOUR OWN, which, let’s be real, is the much better option anyway!
