From BOSL With Love!

If you’ve not checked out the from BOSL With Love Hunt that’s going on at the BOSL Couture Boulevard yet, now’s the time to go, because the hunt ends on 1st March!

The hunt is open to members of the Best of SL Readers in world group and the prizes cost just 1L each! You can see some the hunt prizes and hints here.  I’m loving this vintage inspired rockabilly look created using items from the hunt, it’s certainly worth a visit to grab some good bargains before it’s too late. Happy hunting!

Miss Virtual World Candidates Say NO to Violence Against Women

25th November is United Nations Day to End Violence Against Women. It marks the beginning of 16 Days of Action Against Gender Violence. Across the globe people take action to raise awareness of the scale and impact of violence against women and call for action by individuals, communities and governments to support and protect the victims, hold the perpetrators to account, and take preventative action.

This year the contestants in Second Life’s Miss Virtual World Pageant have worked together to establish the SL Say No – Unite to End Violence Against Women campaign to provide a platform for every Second Life resident to show their support and send a clear message that violence against women is never acceptable. You can see the video here.

The Misses are used to being seen as icons of beauty and glamour. In this video they have used makeup to represent the impact that violence has on many millions of women around the world. They know they can take the makeup off, but so many women don’t have that choice. They hope you will stand with them to say NO to violence.

For more information, and to find out how you can support the campaign, check out our Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/SLSAYNO

We would also encourage you to make a donation to the United Nations Trust Fund to End Violence Against Women http://www.unwomen.org/en/trust-funds/un-trust-fund-to-end-violence-against-women/  Your contribution, however small, will make a difference.

Indian Summer

There’s lots of news from ~ghee~ this weekend. The store has moved to a new location and Warm Clarity has organised lots of events to celebrate including live entertainment, a fashion show and a mini hunt. You can read all about it here.

As well as a whole host of fun things to do, ~ghee~ has released 2 new collections this weekend. I thought I’d show you my favourite outfit from the new Indian Summer collection. The collection is inspired by exquisite sari fabrics, sizzling spices and intricate henna tattoos. This outfit is called Tanishq – an elaborately patterned camisole and co-ordinated tiered skirt, that can be worn together as a stunning suit with the suggestion of a sari, or separately – the camisole looks fab with jeans too for a casual boho look.

Oh! And I almost forgot – thanks to feedback from customers, ~ghee~ now has demos! So now you can try before you buy!

Scroll down for my style notes.
