I have my avatar. One that I’m very fond of. One that has evolved over the time I’ve been involved in Second Life into the truest representation of how I want to present myself in-world.
However, I like to play and create images and characters. I enjoy finding skins and making shapes for them. And that was how the pictures in todays post started out.
I saw a post at YouStyleSL featuring the new Christian skins from AtomicBambi so I picked one up, messed around for a bit and the results are below.
The hooded top is from Reek and I’m sure everyone has picked up one or two by now. They come in a range of colours and patterns but you can customise all the parts apart from the main body using the included HUD.
The shoes are old favourites from HOC. I used the preset white texture then ...
So, I had this idea. Not a big, world altering idea. But an idea nonetheless.
And the idea was to set my dear friend Stacie Pryor a blogging challenge and for her to do the same for me. And to my surprise she agreed. Originally we were going to find one piece of clothing that we could both build an outfit around but after a total failure with that we both set each other a theme around movies. You can see the challenge I set for Stacie over at sheek, and the one she set for me was Tim Burton movies.
It gave me lots of scope. I thought of Beetlejuice (too dead) and Planet Of The Apes (too hairy – even for me) – and so I finally decided upon Sleepy Hollow which resulted in the outfit you can see here.
The coat is from Savvy Avvy and ...
A List of Things I Never Thought I’d Find In Second Life.
1. Friends. And by that I don’t mean your bog standard internet friends or people you talk to / argue with in chat rooms. I mean people who are as valuable to me as the people I count as friends in RL. Theres only a few of them, mainly because I’m grumpy, stubborn and take the piss all the time. But they put up with me and I thank them for it.
2. A Purpose. And the purpose happens to be this blog. This blog gave me a reason to stay in SL. It gave me something to do when exploring and shopping had lost their appeal. It helped me develop skills I never though I had (and some may argue that I still don’t) and because of it I’ve been able to meet people and do things ...
I’m sure almost everyone out there has one or two things from BareRose in their inventorys. Great pieces, even better prices, but it takes forever for everything to rez and then can take at least twice that time to find the thing you’re after. Therefore, I tend to use the Bare@Rose Search Database which lets to take a look at everything and then tp directly to the item. You still have to wait for everything to rez once you’re there, but it saves a hell of a lot of time.
Anyway, I was taking a look at the site today when I came across this jacket. The pack includes this sleeveless version as well as a number of long sleeved ones with different coloured stripes down the arms. Matching pants are also includes – all for L$140.
The jeans and shirt are from Conners and unfortunately the collar defaults to ...
Don’t you just hate it when you spend ages taking a set of photos, only to realise once you’ve finished that you’ve made yourself look like Indiana Jones?
It’s not a common problem I admit but one that I faced tonight. My options were that I could start over. Or not. I chose not. Besides, take the hat off and you have a decent outfit that doesn’t imply that you spend your days looking for the Lost Ark or the Holy Grail.
Anyway, the jacket and shirt are from a set from GothiCatz. The jacket and shirt can be worn separately and a pair of trousers is also included.

I’m so grateful that I don’t have to work during the weekends. Gives me a few days to recharge my batteries, catch up with friends and do some of the things that I enjoy doing. Like finding and listening to new music and spending a bit of time in SL of course.
During my wanderings around the grid this morning I picked up these boots from Anexx. They’ve been out a while and have been blogged to death, but if you don’t have them its worth picking up a pair while they’re half price.
The shirt is new from Aitui. I got a group message about it, took one look at the included picture and was down there to pick one up. It can be worn with or without the hood and straps on the chest and full and half sleeve versions are included in the pack.

I’m sure most of you know thats there’s a 50% off sale at Aoharu at the moment. It lasts until 24th January and I wandered down there last night to take a look around. I picked up a few things – including this jacket and shirt. They can be worn as one layer or separately and the main body of the jacket comes on the spine and chest attachment points. Just don’t be a prat and put on both at the same time like I originally did. It’s not a good look.
Anyway, I threw on one of my favourite new skins from Belleza, some retro shades my hairiest chest hair and couldn’t resist pulling a few Sabotage type poses for the pics.’Cause what you see you might not get. And we can’t bet so don’t you get souped yet. You’re scheming on a thing that’s a mirage. I’m trying ...
Its been one of those weeks and its not even finished yet. My part of the world has had it’s worst snow for years and struggling to and from work on the bus every day has taken its toll. So much so that when I get home I just wanna get warm, watch some brain numbing TV and eat things that are bad for me.
Therefore, theres not been much time for SL and even my Plurk buddies havent seen much of me. But I did find time tonight to grab a few things and pull together a blog post.
I shop at Aitui far too often, but hey – its one on my favourite stores so I’m sure you’ll forgive me for showing another hair from there. I’ve been meaning to pick it up for ages, along with this tattoo from RocX (which is tintable, so you can make ...
Not in much of a writing mood today so heres the lyrics to the song I was listening to while taking the photos. Has nothing at all to do with what I’m wearing. But I like it.
We, you and me what is said wasn’t never meant to hurt,
Real stories always come off worse
Can we make the time to leave it behind and reshape, remake our faith in what we see, how you feel so unsteady,
I’m already out of reach, remember finding your feet,
In a fine time, take the time to find me,
I’ll be ready waiting lets do something real…
Lets do something real.

I’ve wanted a pair of boots like these since I first found Second Life. In the days before I knew SL fashion blogs existed, I remember wandering around every store I could find looking for something similar and did find a couple of pairs of boots I liked, although they were not what I was exactly looking for. And now these exist and they look fantastic.
Now, I’m sure theres many of you who have issues about items that are ‘inspired’ by real life products. It’s not an issue I want to discuss here but I wanted to show these boots as they are incredibly well made and you can change the colour of them from the basic black by purchasing tins of polish which you wear. The colour option is then added to the menu which comes up when you click on them.
I picked up the hat from ...
Anyone who reads this blog knows that I’m a major fan of Belleza skin. And I’m also fond of stripping down to my skivvies to show off any new releases.
Thomas was released yesterday and is a bit of a hit. In fact, I’ve already had an offer of molestation when wearing it. A group gift has also been issued, so if you’re not in the group yet, hand over your L$250 and get one of these.
The usual skin tones, eyeliner and hairbase options are available and theres a couple of different facial hair choices from previous releases. The full beard isn’t quite as dark and full and I’m rather fond of the 70’s porn tache. Very similar to one my Dad had when I’m a kid. I’m assuming he wasnt a porn star. Will have to ask him sometime….

*Disclaimer* THE ABOVE PHOTO IS PHOTO SHOPPED (the face of the avatar hasn’t been touched but a lot of the rest has, however the skin its self has been altered aside from me drawing the ball joints in it. This isn’t meant to deceive anyone i just like have a bit of fun with products that i enjoy.
Righto that aside! This is a short skin review on less than threes phoebe skins. The skins are based on Phoebe Cats. I love how smooth the skin is, in fact it reminds me of a doll a lot hence the image. If anyone follows mac collections in RL, the face of this skin reminded me a lot of the promo photos from that.
These skins are a fun addition for anyone who enjoys bright fun makeups and isn’t afraid of something slightly whimsical.
I look forward to taking more photos using ...
