I logged on today to an unexpected gift from fellow blogger Ambre Jun. This cute little top is the perfect thing for exploring the wilds of SL, with a loose fit to keep you cool no matter how hot the sim you’re in is! And instead of a sculptie piece to add the puff, Ambre has cleverly used the system layers to give this airy feel. If that’s not your thing, you can wear the close fitting undershirt layer as an alternative. I paired this with my reliable Celestial cords, and these cute and comfy wedges from G Field, throwing on a couple of free wooden bangles, and grabbing a hat to keep the sun out of my eyes.

Die Black Swan Sim hat einige Designer zu wunderbaren Kreationen inspiriert die noch bis zum 14.08 erhältlich sind. So auch Nicky Ree, deren Kleid ich hier trage (nicht auf der Black Swan Sim, sondern in RELIC)

Alle Black Swan Kleider sind soweit ich informiert bin nur eine geringe Zeit erhältlich und auf der Black Swan Sim erhältlich. Zunächst landet ihr in einem geschlossenen Raum wo ihr eine Uhr erwerben müsst um die Sim längere Zeit besuchen zu können (aber glaubt mir, die Sim ist es Wert dafür zu zahlen und ihr helft sie damit zu erhalten) Folgt dem Pfad, etwa auf der Hälfte seht ihr daneben eine Fläche auf der die Kleider ausgestellt sind.

One of my frustrations with Second Life® is that despite having utterly gorgeous lingerie we seldom get to wear it. Even when the layer is free, we often cannot wear our lingerie because straps will show or the thong will rise higher than our pants layer. Yes, we can wear it for our sweethearts, but in that case, how long does it really stay on? Last week I shared one strategy for taking our lingerie public. I decided I would make a continuing series on this topic, examples of lingerie I dragged out of the closet to give them some air.

Today I am using the most common, tried and true technique, wearing a lovely corset as a top. This stunning corset is from Simone Stern’s Style Starts Here - the Ruched Satin Corset with Gemmed Trim. This one is black but it comes in several other colors as well. The jeweled trim on the back of the corset is stunningly beautiful and such a surprise on lingerie.

In this photo you can see the details of the bodice, the lace inset and upper shelf, the ruched side panels with lace trim and the sensuous lines of the cut. This is an exquisite piece of craftsmanship and deserves to be shown off. It comes with gloves but I found them less interesting than the wonderful crochet gloves from Pixel Dolls, so I opted for the latter.

Such an exquisite top needs a skirt that can match it in quality. Ideally the textures should match or be complementary to each other. I originally considered the ever-reliable tulle skirt from Digit Darkes because you can toss it on with anything and it works. It’s magic like that. However, I think we have featured that skirt three or four times and I remembered a skirt from Material Squirrel that I thought would work. The second I put it on, I realized it was perfect. The satin textures match well in tone and sheen and the embellishment on the skirt makes it look as though the two creators sat down and planned this together. I also chose the wonderful black patent leather shoes that Maitreya featured at the Shoe Expo, their strappy lines and shiny patent leather setting off the outfit beautifully.

Because I am so in love with the Gala skins, I am adding this close-up of the Carbon makeup. With it I am wearing the Petal hat in Black and White from Elegance Hats because nothing says ‘dressed up to the nines” like a hat. The jewelry from Muse echoes the gem-studded back of the corset and the updo from Truth sets of the hat and the jewelry elegantly. Can I just say that I think Truth is the go-to place for updos? They have several and they are stunning.

I had so much fun with last week’s Freaky Friday post, I thought I’d do it again. Last week, I put a new skin on my usual shape. This week, I thought I’d try my hand at creating a shape to work with the skin I’m wearing. I’ve always been a little bit intimidated by those sliders — but was feeling brave last week! I fell in love with this group gift Gala Phoenix skin, and decided to work with that. I’m pretty happy with how it turned out! I may try a little more of this shape-shifting stuff

The hair is another take-whatever-color-is-on-sale expedition to Diversity Hair– and I think it looks fabulous! I love the adorable topknot, and the wonderful shine to the texture.

In an amazing turnaround, the temperature dropped last night so quickly that I almost turned on my heat. Then I had a conversation with myself that went more of less like this:

Heat in July? Are you nuts? But it’s soooo cold! So put on a sweater, silly! oh, yeah!

Funny how you forget those handy dandy sweaters after you move them into the bottom drawer for the summer. Digging out a sweater in RL prompted me to dig out an SL sweater as well - to prevent any SL goose bumps marring my much beloved new skin from Curio.

The sweater from ALB Dream Fashion has all sorts of prim bits for fullness on the arms, the collar, the “skirt” and of course the belt. However, dropping them all in the above photo, you still have a lovely, wearable sleek cardigan.

I wore the sweater over Meu’s lovely print top and Muism’s highwaisted pants - a must on a cold night since the Meu top is only on the shirt layer and would bare the midriff otherwise. Dela earrings and bangles complete the look along with some Shiny Things slingbacks.

With this photo you can see the delightfully whimsical bodice edging on the top from Meu, with the flower cleverly cut out to pique your interest and draw your attention…not that a print so bold and lively as this needs to work at drawing attention.

After the vintage glamour of Fools Rush In and the pink pop punk (try saying that quickly!) of the jumper dress, I needed something calm and casual for my outfit today. The Saison trouser set fit the bill perfectly, the tan and brown combination suitably neutral and restful. The outfit comes with a cute little vest in the same tone as the pants to go over the off-the-shoulder top, but I was feeling a little chilly as I relaxed in the SS Galaxy’s Japanese garden restaurant, and covered up with this jacket in the same tonal range. The PixelDolls colour palette lends itself perfectly to this kind of mix and matching, and the vast majority of the outfits have component pieces that are wonderful staples in your wardrobe.

The look was finished with the this enamelled jewelry set from Earthtones, it’s stronger colours balancing the strong eyes and lips of the makeup. And hurrah, the perfect excuse to invest in the fantastic Frenzy shoes, Maitreya’s latest release.

All of my location shots for these PixelDolls outfits have been aboard the SS Galaxy, a magnificent three sim wonder of a build, recreating a luxury cruise ship. There are so many distinct areas to explore, clubs, restaurants, sports, and even residential lets available. And I haven’t spotted a perma-tanned OAP yet on my visits!! It’s a great place to see, if nothing else to admire the sheer hard work that’s gone into creating such a huge and diverse build.

I went out for a night of art gallery hopping, specifically to run by my friend Monroe’s newest project. When I came back to my room the other guests and I had some drinkee poos……and well……I’m not really sure how this happened.  You know, blender drinks do sneak up on ya……

I had taken advantage of my night out to check out a store I’d never been to, Truth. They have this rockin little shaggy ‘do for a linden, in a fatpack of about a bajillion colours.  Pairing it up with a sweet cocktail dress from Pink Couture and some chunky pearls from Armidi, the hair brought a really modern edge to that evening’s look. A girly dress and big pearls could go either way - very traditional up do was also an option but I just really wanted to give this hair from Truth a spin.

I love the originality and spunky fun of the collection at Pink Couture and have only one comment on this dress - the glitch pants are way too long and no mod.  So when gallery hopping or stepping over dead hotel-mates, my glitch pants come poking out beneathy my skirt. Cajsa shot around it……but here you can see them. Since they are dark, they really show up against the photosourced ruffle.

Regardless, fun dress, fun hair!

Now, I think I am going to have to pack up and go home though, there is only so much fresh air that mainland Sim girl like me can take!  Back to Quiricosta I go!

A night out on the town always means something new. I can’t wear something you have already seen! Which means very little recycling in my wardrobe. However there are things I love and trot out - abandoning the very tenant that I pretend is a covenant of my SLifestyle.

Basically, I’m fickle.

One thing I’ve always loved, though, was my Edgy Wilds hair that I bought from Aleri Darkes back when God was a boy. I was sad to discover, when I started doing this blog, that this hair was nowhere to be found anymore. I whined and whined and Aleri made some comment a while back about retexturing it but really…..why on earth would she ever bring it back just because one whiny fashionista moaned about it?

BECAUSE SHE LOVES ME THAT’S WHY!!! How do I know this?

On a recent “running the gauntlet” of my favie stores I ran into Diversity Hair (after rolling through Digit Darkes of course) and Aleri was there putting this beautiful cocktail dress up for sale. Having a cocktail party to go to that very NIGHT I thought it was fortuitous and snapped one up. But then, casting my eyes over to the new hair releases she had put out WHAT DID I SEE? My EmoGadget failed to properly emote my joy. EDGY - Re-released in ALL the new textures! As I did the dance and song of joy around her store Aleri gave me a megapack of the new release of Edgy for a present. I would TOTALLY  make out with her if she was a boy.

The new release doesn’t include the sassy bows - but this girl still has hers so I popped them on for a little more of a Lolita Edge to the style. Aleri reworked it just a little, updated the ‘do - but it’s still a dichotomy of Sophisticate-Lolita.  That’s right. I said dichotomy.

And check out the straps on this dress. Notice they don’t go wonky at my shoulder blades? When you’re sitting back wondering what the difference is between the so called good designers and the rest, look at some of your favorite items and look for subtleties like this. Wonky should straps are the bane of my existence.

Now after a night out on the town so irrepressibly CUTE how can I be expected to have kept my purse and room key together? Ding ding ding! I need let back into my room! Pleeeeeeeze?
